I don't know why I feel post-divorce Sam has lost that thing....
She looks different,. It can be the consequence of her plastic
surgery...

Sam's cleavage has gone south. She looks older than 34 and feels
stale and robotic. Her fairy dust went the way of her divorce. I
think we found the package attractive but after finding out
about her antics, it isn't anymore. The whole was really greater
than the sum of the parts.

A thought occurred to me: is she trying to say that after all
the "sacrifices" she made, including wearing a hand me down to
appease the Daggubatis and Akkinenis, they still tossed her
aside?

It can be the case though.
She is trying to convey the world that she was a dutiful wife.
What I think, as you said, she knows what she has lost, this is
why she is reacting this way. She is not ready to let it go.
No matter what she is going to remind the world, she and chay
were married and then got divorced.
While chay is looking fresh and content, Sam looks older.

He will react ONLY if she targets his family or tries to tarnish
the family reputation.. which she obviously can’t do for many
reasons.
So the empty vessel can make as much sound, it can only
embarrass her.
