Your Take on the Murray-Lendl Split
By: masterclass Date: March 19, 2014, 1:41 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
How do you think the split will affect Mr. Andrew Murray, OBE?
Will it temporarily set him back, or will he take it in stride
and eventually find someone else to coach him?
Does it look bad to happen now, when Murray is struggling, or
was it time for Ivan to move on?
       What are your thoughts?
       Respectfully,
       masterclass

I am shocked to be honest general.
I am not sure what happened. perhaps lendl wants to just enjoy
life as this called for too much commitment. he has at least 3
daughters who are very serious golfers. he also has millions so
maybe this deal with Andy had run its course.

It seems like Andy just felt that the collaboration had run its
course, and maybe Lendl too felt that his mission was
accomplished. However, I did see an article where Andy intimated
that he was "tired of being on the leash," so who knows? It
seems he wants to be free for a minute then he'll search for
       someone new.

From the quotes I've seen, it seemed like it was Lendl who
wanted to dedicate himself to playing on the seniors tour.
Curious how in the article it's mentioned he planned to enjoy
his time off the leash but there's no actual quote that I see.
Now, it does seem to me Andy's a very independent person, he
went to live alone to Spain when he was what, 15?, so who knows
how well he can get along with someone who's too dominating (not
that I know if Lendl was).
I doubt the split is good for him. I was shocked to hear about
       it for sure.

I was shocked too Crisstti. they had been together for 2 years.
last year there was talk of a really lasting, long term
       relationship. lendl changed his mind
anyway I have a feeling that Andy will emerge from this just
fine. it takes a little time to put all this behind you but I am
sure Andy will be stronger than ever in time going forward.
In my opinion Lendl should have waited at least until Wimbledon
was over. Andy will be defending his crown there.
now getting that next Wimbledon crown is the best way to move
       ahead for Andy.
