the title is rafa's......the last time he played he should have
won it but had a mental hurdle......this time it's going to 4
sets at max in the final even if it is nole on the other
side.......hardcourter nadal is pretty much unbeatable at best
of 5 on hardcourts.......so he's my favourite for the
title.......
welcome back general shanks.
he has some extra motivation. I think that loss at the O2 arena
is going to be the kicker. he will be thinking about it as he
starts his preparations soon.

he was playing at 60% capacity in AO 2012, the backhand was
still not there.......he will play close to 80% next year like
at the us open recently.......i am giving zero chance to
djokovic and others.......rafa 3.0 is basically unbeatable at
best of 5 on hardcourts.......

I am feeling it general shanks. I think he is going to make #14
happen at the Australian Open.
he was not able to compete there last year. that also has to
fuel his fire.

It's a very top heavy era no doubt. Andy will be the underdog
because of his back injury. The bookies will probably tip Nole
to win as usual. Andy was denied 3 times here. He'll convert it
one time, that is, if he successfully makes the final.
I think (and hope!) he'll win it one day, too, but 2014 almost
certainly won't be it. Never say never, of course, but it will
be too soon after his return to win seven best-of-five set
matches, over two weeks. I would consider his getting to the
Round of 16 to be a great success, and nothing to be embarrassed
about.
If he stays healthy, though, look out 2015! If he wins Wimbledon
again in 2014, then gets the USO again, he'll be motivated like
mad to keep it up, and get Australia.
As for 2014, I'm hoping it's Rafa, yet suspect it will be Novak.
Again.

No player out there plays 100% of his or her capacity - not just
Nadal.

I expect Andy to be completely ready for the AO but if that
doesn't happen then I'd like to go with my 2nd favourite player,
Nole. Personally I feel it will be very tough to beat Nole at
the AO.

I hope you're right, Start da Game.
This is one of the most interesting Oz's in a long time.
Glad you're keeping up with the countdown CD!
It will be hard for Andy to be in that kind of place mentally,
physically, and emotionally at the start of the year, I think,
although he may still be a tough out.
I'm hoping Rafa takes it, ties Pete, and chips away at the
overall record.
That would be sweet!

its will be a Monday start. I wish all slams would go to a
sunday start.
just 53 days left to go.

I am terribly fond of a Sunday start because then I get to see a
bit more of a Slam otherwise you know, I am always at work. But
at the same time, you must admit AO is pretty good at keeping
their schedules on track.

Not sure Murray will be there I can see him rolling at Wimbledon
and prob winning it with lendl.
AO probably coming down to Nadal and Djokovic. Either Nadal wins
but it will take a herculean and monumental effort to take the
title. Novak usually is not an UE machine on those courts.
Nadal wins Delpotro or Djokovic might actually have a weakened
Nadal at the FO and take it. Never know lol.
