Just watched parts of the AO 2009 final.
Federer 13 GS then. Wasn't able to get his 14 and same as Pete.
Lost to Rafa.
Will history repeat itself?

that was an awesome final. they went toe to toe for 4 long sets
before Federer was to be tamed that day.
I rate that as one of the best hard court matches I have ever
seen. the quality of play was very high for 4 long sets.
my own prediction is that nadal is going to be able to make
history there. it is just 56 days away now.
that also partly explains why he keeps playing. he has exos
planned with ferru and nole in south America soon.

It will be one of the most interesting AO in a long time.
56 days... only! Get a bit nervous already!
The draw... which side will Andy go? Rafa or Novak side? Andy
has a bigger chance winning Novak than Rafa I think.

andy will be very hungry to compete at a grand slam again.
he has lost 3 finals there so we know he brings extra motivation
with him.
no telling how the draw might work out. I guess ideally, if one
is a rafa fan, nole and andy need to be in the same 1/2.
for the nole fans, they would want andy to be in nadal`s 1/2.
I also think we cannot count Federer out. he still has a big
game. he could put it all together and end up in the final
there.

Federer is a big question in AO. A bit like Andy. How will they
play? Makes AO very interesting. So good there is more than
Rafa-Novak in focus. God, I hope Andy comes back strong.
Delpo has to prove he can do something now. I don't believe he
can win a GS now, maybe not ever.... I thought for years he
could be a numerous GS winner one day, but I starting loosing
hope.
To see it in another way... not bad being consistent top 5.

del potro's problem is the same problem most of the others have:
all these all time greats are in front of them. Fed, nadal,
nole, and andy are all time greats.
how the hell do you get through that steel wall?
it is nearly impossible for the others to win even masters
events with these sharks around.
Federer took down del potro twice on the indoor hard courts.
once in paris and once at the O2 arena. lets see how it goes at
the outdoor hard courts.
del potro has not fared well at the Australian open. maybe he
can make some progress this time around.

It's a very top heavy era no doubt. Andy will be the underdog
because of his back injury. The bookies will probably tip Nole
to win as usual. Andy was denied 3 times here. He'll convert it
one time, that is, if he successfully makes the final.

his Wimbledon win is mega huge.
now he knows he can beat the best of the best. its just a matter
of getting healthy now after that back surgery and getting back
into the swing of things.

the title is rafa's......the last time he played he should have
won it but had a mental hurdle......this time it's going to 4
sets at max in the final even if it is nole on the other
side.......hardcourter nadal is pretty much unbeatable at best
of 5 on hardcourts.......so he's my favourite for the
title.......
