what was it about?
and what about the cast? any big names?

It's more like a teen/young adult movie, but it is still great.
It is the sequel to the Hunger Games. (based off of book series
by Suzanne Collins)
Major Cast:
Jennifer Lawrence - Katniss Everdeen
Peeta Mellark - Josh Hutcherson
Gale Hawthorne - Liam Hensworth
The Hunger Games
Takes place in a future dystopian society. Each district must
offer up a male and female tribute ages 12-18 at a public
reaping to participate in the Hunger Games, a fight to the death
where there is one winner, or victor, that may return home.

I did see the first one but not finding enough interest for this
one.
I did not get to see Gravity after all. Things didn't go as
planned in the end.

Really? I've never heard anything about her. I was a fan, but
not a follower necessarily. Tell us a little about Audrey.

Hola TT, to be honest, I can't say I am a fan of any of the
actresses I have in my signature. However, I am a fan of certain
characters they played. To be even more honest, if I were an
actress, I would have deliberately had a very dull character off
camera because then that would have allowed me to delve into
different characters in the true sense, that I was going to play
in different movies. For example, you would have hardly seen me
off camera. Marilyn Monroe was in fact so much bigger off camera
that every character she played in different movies seemed like
the same character she played in her real life.
Anyway, this Holy Golightly character was initially made for
Marilyn Monroe as this story was loosely based on Truman Capote
novella, so Capote was quite upset when he heard it was going to
be Audrey who was going to play this famous role. The characters
simply didn't fit each other. Audrey herself was a bit reluctant
to play the role as she openly admitted one time that she
couldn't possibly play the role of a hooker. No one in fact
could see her in such a role as she was quite the opposite in
her own character and the other roles she was playing at that
time were quite different than this. In any case, she was able
to step out of that comfort zone she was in at that time and was
able to portray it beautifully and effectively. She was even
nominated for the Academy awards in the best actress category
that year.
I do feel however that Marylin would have been a great cast as
well but then again, one would have run the risk of playing the
same character as real life and that wouldn't have required as
much work as Audrey Hepburn put in into this character that was
so opposite of her. The idea is and always to get out of one's
own character and play entirely a different role after all.
Otherwise I don't see how one should get an award for playing a
role that is very much like his or her own self.

No problem, TT. Most of the tidbits were taken from the
biography anyway.
So very recently I've seen the mini version of Bonnie & Clyde.
This was on TV and had Part 1 and 2 to it so it was basically 4
hours long. While I thought it was okay, I don't think it
remained truthful to the original story. I later studied a bit
and found out Bonnie and Clyde did not meet at Bonnie's wedding.
That part was glamorized unnecessarily. Also, it showed Bonnie
firing at police at times whereas the truth probably is that
perhaps Bonnie never pulled the trigger against anyone. I say
that because there's absolutely no account for this event - no
eye witness or whatsoever, so that part wasn't believable
either. And this story isn't even 100 years old and has already
been heavily manipulated. Perhaps the old film is more true to
its original story.
This also reminded me of the overrated movie A Beautiful Mind. I
got curious after watching the movie and decided to find out
more about it. And what I found out didn't really match to its
film story. It was glamorized and manipulated to make it a feel
good movie, while the real life story had many bitter moments
and wasn't at all as clear cut. Quite ironic that it even won
the Oscar but then again we do like our fake stuff and want to
go home feeling good about it.
So when I hear this story or that story was based on 'actual
events', I don't find myself highly convinced.

I want to see Gravity so much but I can't find anybody to watch
with me. Alas. And I am not sure if I want to take anybody with
me because they might fall asleep half way through. Did you know
that had happened to me when we went to see Memento? Half of my
friends fell asleep...snoring even at some point. That was very
disappointing. I wanted to kick their ass and woke up them.
lolol
When the same movie was made in India with the usual hullah
gullah song and dance, it became a super-hit. I say that
because, a couple of my friends that night who fell asleep in
the middle of the original Memento, were from India. See the
fake stuff never ends and it will never end as long as people
buy it.
Anyhoo, I might want to catch it later tonight all by myself. I
don't mind it. I have done it before.
