first semifinal appearance in 35 tries for spartan Stan.
I thought berdych was playing well. the spartan thrashed him in
4 sets.
and today this performance against Andy.

General, I give Youzhny an excellent chance to beat Djokovic
indoors or on faster courts, like Rotterdam or Marseilles.
If Arthur Ashe plays faster tonight then I've seen it so far,
then Youzhny might have a chance in 3 or 4, but if not, then
probably Djokovic in 3 or 4.
This is a slam, best of 5, and I'm not sure Youzhny has what it
takes mentally to beat Djokovic over best of 5, as long as
Djokovic can defend like he does. You have to be able to hit
winners against Djokovic or force him into making errors to
shake his confidence, and if the court is high bouncing or slow
enough, than Djokovic gets to a lot of balls that would be
winners on lower bouncing faster surfaces and frustrates many
opponents, like Nadal with his defense.
Still, anything can happen. I've seen stranger things... like
Federer beating himself like he did vs. Robredo the other night.
That was bizarre. He was like Jekyll and Hyde. He played
fairly well in many games to get to break point, then played
awfully when it counted. He handed that match to Robredo. He
played quite well in the 3 matches previously. So it was very
strange for me, almost shocking, general.
If I didn't know better, I'd say Uncle Toni was sticking a
dagger into a Roger Federer voodoo doll on every break point.

I am all for Youzhny/Richie or Youzhny/Wawa final. It would be
so sweet if that were to happen.

I like Youhzny's game. Very easy on the eye. Gasquet's also -
particularly that backhand. It must be one of the most
beautiful shots in tennis. Having said that, I can't see much
other than a Djoker/Rafa final.

I wonder why Spartan Stan`s backhand does not get as much
attention as gasquet`s backhand does.
I think Spartan stan`s backhand is heavier and more lethal.

Stan's is more effective - he gets more purchase on it and it's
more penetrating. Gasquet's is just aesthetically a beautiful
stroke to watch.
