que pasa general sid. thanks for firing up the shanghai masters
       thread.
       here is the draw:

looks like nole got lucky. he does not have to deal with del
potro. roger does have to game to derail him in a best of 3 sets
       foremat.
we will just have to see. its tough not having murray in the
mix. it makes it too easy for somebody.

he really should have skipped the china open. he wasted too much
time trying to get rid of fognini.
and there really was no need to hand nole a win. I saw the first
       set.
nadal was simply terrible and nole could not miss. and hence you
have a straight set win by nole.
nadal could have used this time more wisely like getting some
       much needed rest and recuperation.
and putting in work on the backhand and the return during his
       training sessions.
       he lost because of this:
       1. his backhand and his return were terrible
       2. he was stale which led to his movement being weak
and of course nole is playing well again so that is a huge
       factor.

Yep, I also think that playing Beijing was a mistake. Let's see
what happens in shanghai now, it is not too late to withdraw ;)

maybe he is just getting matches under his belt so he will be
       ready for the Australian open.
who knows what the hell he is thinking but all this tennis
activity is way too risky at this point. this is how he has
always gotten injured. he overdoes it.
I would rest at this point and train a little bit on clay to
keep the ground game sharp. clay is also easier on the joints
       for him.

But possibly playing Beijing/Shanghai/Basel/Paris/WTF is way,
waaaaay too much! I don't know what Rafa's thinking but he
better take some rest before WTF.

perhaps he wants to lock up the ranking situation before showing
up at the O2 arena in London.
but I agree. he needs to skip paris at least.

It'll be interesting to see how Nadal regroups after Beijing and
how Fed does after a long break! Hopefully it should be a great
       tournament.
