Andromeda
Princess of Ethiopia and daughter of Cassiopeia and King Cepheus
of Ethiopia. Her mother compared her daughter’s beauty to the
sea nymphs. For the insult, Poseidon demanded Andromeda’s
sacrifice to the sea monster Cetus, in order to appease him.
Rescued by Perseus, she eventually married him and became the
great-grandmother of Hercules. For her story, she was granted
immortality among the stars.
