My Life of Poems .......
By: Meljoy909 Date: September 8, 2015, 8:26 am
---------------------------------------------------------
When I wrote this poem my daddy was still alive. We lost him
three years ago to cancer, and nine years after I wrote this, I
wish I could say they had a story book marriage, but from what I
remember it was Hell. I see my mom live with so much peace in
her life now, but she still loves my daddy and always will, and
even though he was mean she would take him back if only she
could. In the end I realize my mom was not crazy to stay with my
daddy all those years, she was merely unconditionally loving him
until death did they part. She fulfilled her vows she made when
she was that young innocent 16 yr old girl in love with the man
of her dreams.
Married for Life
Two special people 40 years ago today
Stood up before god and vowed to remain
A couple for life
Through thick and through thin
A love that would last
A love that wouldn’t end
Tall dark and handsome
The boy of her dreams
The man she would love
And soon he’d agree
She knew before he did
One day they would marry
Although they were young
It must have been scary
Not a storybook love
But a love that grew strong
They had to work hard
They had to hold on
Hard times there were many
But the love would endure
Each test they would pass
Each day love grew more
Two little girls
The two of them had
Pam then Melissa
All females, poor Dad
Soon they would grow up
As all children do
Move out and get married
And have children too
My mom and My Dad
Now grandparents of three
Two boys and a girl
Alex, Ashley and Casey
Married for life on April 11, 1964
And now 40 years later
It’s 2004!
Happy Anniversary
Mom and Dad, We Love You!

Yes my mom is special, and because of her I am the strong woman
that I am today. I've fought many battles, I've endured more
pain then I deserve, but my heart remains open to life and love.
I believe my life is my success, my beautiful children are my
legacy and my dream is to write, to inspire, to make a
difference, and (too make a bunch of money) lol!
It was time to lighten the mood! By the way you ROCK!

Daddy's Love
Love is a powerful gift that's precious and true.
God gives us love that shines through and through.
Children are born to special people each day.
When God gave us you dad the Angels exclaimed.
"He" is the one God knows will be up to the test.
"He" is the dad who's above all the rest.
"He" is the dad that will play in the floor
Take them where he goes, it won't be a chore.
"He" will teach them to fish, to say please and thank you.
"He" will teach them respect, and the right path to choose.
The Angels smiled as they descended away.
And gave us to you to love in every way.
In the fast pace of life few dads give what you do.
They just have too many other things to do.
But you have shown us Dad that your role is a treasure,
and being your son's brings more love than can be measured.
This poem was written for the father of my two oldest boys for
Father’s Day 2007. He passed away in his sleep at the age of 39
on 12/01/2007.
Daddies can’t be replaced and no matter how much love I give
them I can’t take that pain away from my boy’s heart.
Now my dad also has passed away, and I share the loss of missing
my dad.

I think that is a very good poem with a very different rhyme
scheme. It is very good to be innovative at times though. I'm
very sorry about the circumstances behind it though & can only
imagine how you must have felt.

Thank you for your kind words. I've had a lot of heart ache in
my life but it's made me the woman that I am today. I survive by
knowing I am not alone and everyone experiences pain and loss in
their life. I just pray that everyone has friends or family that
help them through tragedy. You write so well, thank you again
for your comments. I hope to learn from others in Camelot.

It's o.k. I've had more downs than ups myself today & I agree
with everything you've said. Some people are luckier than others
though. I stay strong by listening to & singing along with Bette
Midler's rose. I hope so too. Thank you very much. It's o.k. I
try not to stick to 1 genre for my writing so it can reflect
what I am thinking about at the time. I hope you learn a lot.
Have you looked at the education section? There is some very
interesting information there. I've been trying out the art
history section recently. I think it's very interesting how they
made bronze figures & how they could create such good art
without all the modern tools we have today. I mean some of their
paints had arsenic in them so their job was literally killing
them & they didn't know.

I do plan to look at the education section. My full time job
sucks up my day and I'm down a computer at home. The one I had
finally died. Eventually, I make strides and progress. Overall
I'm a happy person, but I tend to write when I'm not happy.
That's my outlet. I think all creative people have a dark side
emotionally to some degree. Smile!

You must be exhausted then. Oh dear! I hope you get your P.C.
problem sorted. I normally need things to cheer me up. Normally
hearing the sound of bagpipes, reading, singing & looking at
equines cheers me up. I normally write when I get lots of ideas
that don't want to leave me until I start putting them on paper.
Lol. I love comedy & music. I tend to sing or laugh more often
than smile. :0)
