[center]How to file your leave of absence correctly[/center]
If you are going to absent from Carver City for a prolonged
period of time (3 days or more), then you need to fill out an
LoA so we don't suspend your account for inactivity.
Filling out an LoA is easy and only takes a few minutes. Simply
follow this three-step guide.
(1) Create a new topic within the LoA board, using the following
title format:
[center]LoA - Main Character's Name [Dates you will be on leave]
For example:
LoA - Jonny Tulley [September 12th - 20th, 2013][/center]
(2) Select and copy the code below and paste it into your LoA
topic.

Period of time absent:
Date commencing:
Date returning:
Any relevant comments:

(3) Complete the form, detailing the nature of your LoA, as
follows:
Character(s) affected: List the character(s) that will be
affected by your LoA
Period of time absent: How long will you be absent?
Date commencing: The date of your absence will start
Date returning: The date you will be returning to the fleet
Any relevant comments: Anything else you think is relevant to
the LoA. Note you do not need to provide a reason for your
absence.
Note that all sections of the LoA form (aside from the relevant
comments) are required. If you do not know the exact date you
will be returning to Carver City, please act on the side of
caution and provide an outside estimate, on which we can review
your LoA and if necessary, extend it. You will be asked for a
date if you do not complete this section.
Carver City Reserves
If you intend to be inactive for a considerable amount of time
(more than 2 months), you should consider applying for placement
in the Carver City Reserves, where your account will remain
secure for up to one year, after which time you must notify us
of your intentions or the account will become subject to normal
inactivity rules, which may result in account suspension. Note
that while in the Carver City Reserves, you will be prohibited
from posting on the forums, other than to file a reactivation
request. If you are in a position of responsibility, you will
lose your position and forum privileges during this time.
Additional Notes:
Please stick to the above template. It keeps all LoA posts
consistent and easier to read for the admin responding.
Please provide as much notice as you are able, preferably more
than 2 weeks prior to the start of your LoA. This will allow
your fellow players to plan for your absence.
In addition to filing a LoA topic here, you may also want to
enable the "PM Autorespond" feature found in your PM settings
menu. Simply type a message in the text box and click "Change
Settings." From then on, when someone sends you a PM while you
are LoA, they will receive your automatic response back. Just
don't forget to disable it (by deleting your message) upon your
return.
Once you have returned from your LoA, please remember to post
back in your LoA topic so everyone knows and your LoA can be
archived. Should your LoA run out before you know you can post
regularly again, please try and post that your require an
extension in your LoA topic. If you are not back and actively
posting within three days from the end of your LoA, we will
attempt to contact you. If you cannot be reached a week after
your LoA date, your account will be subject to normal inactivity
rules, which may result in account suspension.
Finally, please remember that LoA topics are not discussion
forums! Only those filing for LoA and the fleet admin responding
should be posting in a topic. If anyone other than those people
posts in your LoA topic, please do not encourage them by
replying. Simply inform an admin and their post will be deleted.

one of our admins.
