Situations,Scenarios, & Possible Solutions: August 1, 2025

While I believe that the case is fine and dandy as it
is...unresolved with the matter of who murdered Carrie Brown:
whether George Damon's story holds
water: and whether Amer Ben Ali went to Algeria: and a host of
other things....these are four items for perusual.
Pete must be rolling his eyes like Nina does at seeing yet
another attempt on my part to outline where
we stand....but heck, I got bored and figured I'd kill some time
with this list.
All ideas and criticisms are welcome.

Four Situations August 1 2025
ONE-
C. Kniclo kills Brown
Takes key and locks door
Ali:
1. Cannot enter room
2. Did not get her blood on himself
3. Formad's and Flint's determination was a mistake
4. Sultan's story of the confession was a lie.
Issues:
2.Had blood on his person and the material under his nails
accepted to have come from Brown
3.Formad and Flint brought in because they were the top in their
field. Defense does not reject their finds
other than Gibier's opinion on tyrosine.
4.Why does an interpreter hired by the defense come up with a
story like that?

TWO-
C. Kniclo kills Brown
Takes key but doesn't lock door
Ali:
1. Enters unlocked door
2.Gets blood on himself
3.Formad and Flint's determination was correct
4.Confession complete, did not murder her
Issues:
2. Why touch her when she was visibly dead( head wrapping and
evisceration)?

THREE-
C.Kniclo didn't kill Brown
Takes key, doesn't lock door
Ali:
1. Gains access to Room 31, either through an unlocked door or
by Carrie Brown.
2. Kills her, gets her blood on himself
3. Formad and Flint were correct in their findings
4. Confession incomplete, does not confess to murder but to
being in room.
Issue:
4. Confession to being in room only part of story

FOUR-
C.Kniclo didn't kill Brown
Takes key, locks door
Ali:
1. Is let into room by a living Carrie Brown
2. Kills her, gets her blood on himself
3. Formad and Flint were correct
4. Confession incomplete, does not confess to murder but to
being in room
Issue:
4. Confession to being in room only part of story

Miscellaneous:
Why does C .Kniclo take and keep key instead of disposing of it?
Why does he take it to Cranford but not take it with him?
How does Ali lock the door if a key was required and if it was
indeed locked?
How did the lint under his nails figure in? From his own bed or
hers?
Why sneak out? Why would Fitzgerald invent a story like this?
Was door actually locked when Fitzgerald went to the room in the
morning?
Damon's story could have been true even if key not authenticated
and description
of farmhand either intentionally wrong or accidentally
misremembered in 1901.
C. Kniclo and/or the Farmhand may have been innocent even if C.
Kniclo morphed into
the Farmhand or not. Possession of the key might be
overestimated in terms of his possible
guilt. See examples Three and Four. Hence, the key as evidence
of the Farmhand or
C. Kniclo's guilt is only a requisite for situations One and
Two.
Fitzgerald mentions the keys ( for that room) being cast-iron at
the trial.
Jennings rejects the brass key, altogether.
Miniter's eyewitness description remains intact, April 24-June
30th. Does not match
Damon's description of the Farmhand.

A quick remark about 3 and 4: how does Kniclo get blood on him
if he didn’t kill Brown?
Blood witnessed by clerk at Glenmore hotel - I’m here assuming
that C Kniclo was Glenmore Man, apart from the nose the
description matches completely- and also blood on shirt left
behind in Cranford, apparently much more blood than could result
from his ordinary work.

Pete:
With all due respect, without the shirt being presented along
with the key, we don't have proof other than Damon's word that
it was bloody or that he even had a shirt, in the first place.
The housemaid would have been nice to find for corroboration.
Some might see the absence of the shirt at the time of Damon's
coming forward as him expecting to be believed
since he had a key. Unless 'Mary' was dead, there should have
been an effort undertaken to find her.
As to blood on the man who was seen in the Glenmore, while he
did resemble C. Kniclo, it was not uncommon for stragglers to go
to the Glenmore at all hours of
the morning in search of a room. Some had engaged in fights or
were disheveled through other means. There were quite a few men
who were picked up who resembled
C. Kniclo ( Miniter description) during the first 3 days of the
manhunt for Brown's last paying client. Perhaps Glenmore Man was
one of them.
When Damon filed his first affidavit, he made no mention of
'Henry', the stable hand, stating that the farmhand had blood on
his person. All we heard was that
the Farmhand had a rough night, which tells us little.
It isn't impossible that an innocent C. Kniclo on his way back
to Cranford by taking a train from Chatham Square got into some
fisticuffs on the way. An argument on his way
out of the hotel: on the walk up Catherine Street: or in Chatham
Square. Outside options, for sure, but not impossible.

I should have just said the following in my post before this
one, as it relates only to numbers 3 & 4:
IMHO, the reason for that, within these hypothetical situations,
is that
Glenmore Man was someone else, and the existence of the bloody
shirt is unproven.
C. Kniclo AND Ali could have both gotten blood on their persons
in numbers 1 & 2.
Sorry for any confusion.
PS:
If I'm not mistaken, Pete, was the following one of your
suggestions before?
FIVE:
C. Kniclo goes down to the washroom.
In the interim, Ali goes over to Room 31 and kills Brown.
He returns to Room 33.
C. Kniclo returns: sees the corpse- gets some of her blood on
his person-
takes his belongings and locks the door upon his departure.
Another one along the same lines:
SIX:
C.Kniclo kills Brown, goes down to the washroom.
In the interim, Ali goes over and comes into contact with her
blood.
C. Kniclo returns for his belongings and leaves, locking the
door behind
him.
Do you have any other possible scenarios?
