The Tammany Times states in 1895, that Tammany Times Volume III,
1893 or 1894, includes biographical sketches and
photo-engravings of John D. Lindsey (sic) and H. D. Macdona.
Unfortunately, I cannot find Volume III online. Perhaps you have
more luck? Tammany Times of 1892 and 1894 is online, but Volume
III I cannot find. It also seems it was a somewhat separate
publication, i.e. it was bound collections of the year's run of
Tammany Times, with som extra pages added.
I do think Macdona's picture would appear in the regular Tammany
Times, it seems they did a lot of mini-sketches of their
prominent members.

The New York Daily Tribune index has a sketch of Macdona in 1893
february 12, page 19, if you have access to that paper?

Here's some biographical details from Biographical Directory of
New York, 1899:

There's also a longish quote by Macdona, advising Nellie Bly on
her mission. The quote implies - through the words "he later
recalled" that Macdona left some sort of memoirs which the quote
is culled from?
For legal advice, she called on Assistant District Attorney
Henry D. Macdona. "I looked at the little woman with amazement,"
he later recalled. "I learned that she had obliterated every
vestige of her identity and would go into the asylum absolutely
leaving no trace behind. At first I declined to have anything to
do with the matter and cautioned her as to the danger. I
expressed the opinion that she did not possess sufficient bodily
strength to enable her to pass harmless through the threatened
ordeal."

Nice work as usual!! I've replaced the original sketch with
the one in the Tribune, a newspaper that I do have access to.
You're right about that particular Tammany Times
edition....haven't found it yet in Hathi.

Pete:
Macdona had a son ( Henry R. ) from his first marriage. In
July 1908, he married the woman in this link, Amelia Bishop.
Unfortunately, that didn't last long. Macdona died in April
1909. She would perish at sea on May 7, 1915.
She was a passenger on the Lusitania. She was en route to
England for medical treatment.

Yes, I saw that. His son got involved in the legal aftermath, as
I recall. or at least the Macdona name pops up a lot in
connection with the Lusitania.
