In another case where we find a man convicted of murder and in
which a second-degree verdict was rendered.

Pretty sad but interesting story.
Note that Dougherty was not released and declared sane from the
asylum, he escaped.

Thanks Pete!
I put together something for my project this morning about
Dougherty and didn't make the same mistake I made on this
thread.
I've corrected the goof in the post you're referring to.
Much obliged, amigo.

No problem, Howard
If you’re writing about his asylum stay, the superintendent
Fleming, who was censured by the court for not apprehending
Dougherty, actually did notify the authorities but did not
receive instructions and was basically ridiculed by the police.
Dougherty worked in Scranton when his obsession started, isn’t
that fairly close to you?

Pete:
Yes, its sort of near us in that it's in Eastern
Pennsylvania....up in coal-cracker country. About a two-hour
drive...105 miles from us.
He had also been stationed in Dundaff, Pa....around 125 miles
from here. It's close to Scranton.
This awful map I patched together shows Doylestown Pa, where he
had also worked. It's mentioned in one of the articles.
Doylestown is only 23 miles from the Empire of Eagleville.
Doylestown is the little black rectangle...Eagleville is the
blue dot.
