The photographer was H. S. Stearns, a gynecologist, at 21 East
44th Street, Manhattan.

Do you think she’s wearing a tiny string necklace or is it a
ringformed miscoloration? Or something else.
I initially thought a necklace but I don’t think it follows the
contours of her neck as a necklace would. Too even a ring.

She wasn't wearing a necklace. I just checked early reports (
April 24 and 25) mentioning the condition of her body.

Just a small note Howard: in the A-Z you have Stearns born 1862,
he was actually born December 4th, 1861.
He married Amy Prentice Browning april 4TH, 1884, had two
children, a daughter who died at one year old, and a son, HS
Stearns jr. who also became a physician.
His wife died 1928 and he remarried in his old age.
Stearns sr. became a board member of the American Bible Society
in 1899, and served 42 years on the board until his death, and
from 1822 as vicepresident.
