INTERNAL MYSTERIES WITHIN THE CASE JULY 8 2023
* Why did Inspector Byrnes blast Mary Miniter in the press.?
* Why was Eddie Fitzgerald put into The Tombs and not Sam Shine?
* Why wasn't Kelly from the Glenmore Hotel subpoenaed to back up
Miniter's testimony?
* Why wasn't William Mannix called by the prosecution to back up
Nellie English's testimony?
* Who left the ladder in the fifth-floor hallway?
* Why did the most elaborate coverage of the crime scene not
contain any reference to the ladder in the hallway?
* What about the conductor on the Central Jersey Railroad line
and his story? Why wouldn't Detective Kilcauley tell fellow
cops in New York about this potential lead?
* Did the Farmhand actually exist?
* Was the key the actual hotel key and not fabricated by Damon?
* Was it possible that the train to Cranford would not have
arrived in that town for the Farmhand to have been at home when
Damon went to his stable on the morning of the 24th?
* The key in Frank's possession is a sign that he was the killer
- IF the door could not lock without the key. But how does it
explain the material under Ali's nails which put him in contact
with Brown's corpse?
*Damon's alleged trip to the East River Hotel: Fact or fiction?
* C. Kniclo's Hasty Retreat: What's the rush?
* Mary Brennan's story of Carrie Brown receiving money from an
Uptown benefactor
* Ali's confession to being in the room to a fellow Arab, Emile
Sultan.
* Medical evidence - Iron clad or possibly flawed?
* The Door & Lock Issues
* Damon: the lone affiant out of Cranford. Why not the others?
* Did Damon intend on keeping the key forever or was his
appearance a matter of self-preservation after being outed by
John R. Lee?
*Did Damon consciously wait until the original prosecution team
was out of office before appearing?
* Probable cause/circumstantial evidence to charge Ali with
murder?
*Was the blood planted as suggested by reporters?
*Was it a compromise solution when Ali received the murder in
the second-degree sentence?
*Was it a compromise when Gov. Odell signed papers releasing,
not pardoning, Ali?
*Did the defense reject assistance from the reporters in 1891 as
was reported?
* If Ali had died prior to 1901, would we ever know of the
Farmhand story?
*If Damon had died prior while Ali was in jail, the only way
we'd know of the key would be through his wife, children, or
perhaps John R. Lee. Would that have happened?
*Was there any useful information in the Charles Jansen story
yet dismissed by the defense at the trial?
* Why wasn't Tommy Thompson subpoenaed to appear at the Trial?
* James Jennings' uncertainty if the key Damon turned over
actually was similar to the keys which would have been used in
1891.
* Is there any validity to the stories ( 1900 and 1906) that
Tommy Thompson was the murderer?
* Was John Smith Frenchy 2 ?
*Whatever happened to the key to Room 33 after Ali left? He
didn't return it to the front desk when he left after 5 AM....
