       A male "old Shakespeare"

       Not only women were nicknamed Shakespeare, here's one from the
       book about the Bowery, "The Wretches of Povertyville", 1909, by
       I. L. Nascher

       Theodore Dreiser referred to 'Old Shakespeare' as an old man in
       his autobiographical work, 'Newspaper Days' (1922)
       Dreiser wrote the novel 'Sister Carrie'.
       Dr. Ignatz Leo Nascher is credited with coining the term
       'Geriatrics'. He was from Austria.
