First, an accurate account...Annie Campbell as Shakespeare.

This account is also in reference to Annie Campbell, not Carrie
Brown. Campbell was the person said to be
arrested 28 times....

Officer Dokel's first name was Diederich, although spelled
differently here.
Diederich Wilhelm Dokel, born in Germany on June 21, 1849.
Naturalized in 1870, lived at 159 Greenwich Street.
Married in 1874
5 foot 9, high forehead, blue eyes.....but no photo. :'(
By 1894, he was a detective.
By 1897, he was a saloonkeeper.
He died on October 22nd, 1903
Is found in a number of newspaper articles as an officer.

Hi Howard
Still mostly busy with moving to a new country soon, but I did
try to find a photo of Dokel, no luck.
However, there is an illustration of him in the National Police
Gazette, vol. 36, issue 154: September 4 1880. However, the copy
available at the internet archive is from an old b/w microfilm
and the illustration is impossible to make out.
But perhaps you have access to a better scanned copy.
