       Another of those 'what if?' moments or events in the case.
       If this account is true,  the odds that Amer Ben Ali could have
       murdered Carrie Brown would
       have dropped to zero...had it not been for the intervention of a
       saloon keeper named Scheller.
       If Ali had received sixty days as Justice Scheper was
       considering giving Ali for vagrancy, he'd have
       been in Queens County Jail until May 13th. Allegedly, the
       intervention of the saloon-keeper
       contributed to the lesser sentence of 30 days ( March 14-April
       13).
       Ali was released after 30 days on April 13th
       On a side note, had George Frank pressed charges against Ali
       back in January of that year, Ali could have
       received six months on the burglary charge. That, too, would
       have removed any possibility of Brown's death in April.
