From an article about La Bruckman in Pittsburgh dispatch, April

Pete:
I think we can safely add this fellow to the list of arrested
( detained, whatever...) men.
None of the nineteen men mentioned in the A to Z had a
surname that began with a 'G'
or were English....so I don't think it's a matter of misspelling
or mixing up one man with another.
Good eye, buddy!

Pete:
I found a mention of Gibson in the New York Sun...April 30th.
The Sun and Dispatch articles are almost identical....funny that
we both overlooked it.
Another thing.....he was picked up 5.6 miles from the Hotel on
1st Ave. and 72nd Street.
That's the Lenox Hill neighborhood.
New York Sun
April 30, 1891
************
James Gibson, an Englishman, 21 years old, was arrested late on
Tuesday night by Detectives Campbell and Morgan of the East
Sixty-second street station. He was found on First avenue, near
Seventy-second street, carrying a bundle of clothing which he
could not account for. His appearance suggested the murderer of
Joel Davis, and Detective Campbell took him to Police
Headquarters. Inspector Byrnes said he wasn't Jack. The man was
discharged in the Yorkville Police Court.

Good, Howard, information always feels a bit more certain when
it's not just out of town papers that carry it.
I've read that article several times over the past two years but
never noticed his name before!
