Report of September School Day.

Report of the September Mixed School Day.
Saturday 1st September, Starting at 12.00 Lunchtime.
Report from Beril.
SO, who all came along today ?
The Headmistress, Miss Stephanie Hardcastle.
Deputy Headmistress, Miss Ros Dubois.
Pupils.
Alex Evans.
Alex Cowell.
Beril Reid.
Steven Riveria.
Lee Higgins.
Ian Gold.
Gazza McDonald Tewit.
(5 paying pupils)
And in the evening we were joined by,
Martyn Slater.
Roy Black.
That was our compliment for today.

For some of the "old-timers" at our school,
you may remember Peter Simpson.
Peter is very ill in hospital at present.
Slater phoned his son to pass on our best wishes
from past and present members of our school.

Peter is a man of few words but under the quiet exterior beats
a heart of gold.

I would like to echo the sentiments expressed by Curtis. Peter
was the epitome of the " strong silent man " and when he did
speak, it' was always in the spirit of friendliness and good
nature. I hope he makes a good recovery soon.

Peter was actually at Cherryls very first SchoolDay and hardly
missed a class for many years. So predates us all in the history
of WRGS/Westgate/Carlton.
Peter is very knowledgeable and played a significant role in the
Carlton College team that won the Top of the Form contest
against the Muir academy at an event me and Cherryl put on at
Coventry in 2010
Beril,has slightly got the details wrong with how I have learned
of his illness. It came about because Peter has been a regular
attendee at my Spanking Parties, again ever since our first
Party. Despite Peter being a clever man he hasnt embraced 21st
century technology so has no mobile or e-mail. Just a landline
phone for contact purposes. Peter rang me on the morning of our
July Party at Sheffield to say he wouldnt be able to make it. I
had already set off so couldnt answer my phone and picked up the
message later on the answer phone although I couldnt make out
much of what he said.
I tried ringing him the following week but couldnt get an
answer. Now Peter always rang back if he missed any phone calls
so after a day or two I became a little concerned but as it was
the height of the summer heatwave I hoped he had gone away
somewhere. A couple of weeks passed by and I was becoming more
concerned so started ringing and leaving my name and number.
Eventually I received a phone call from Peters landline and the
bloke told me he was Peters son, I didnt know he had one, he
told me he had, had some sort of stroke and had been in Hospital
3 or 4 weeks. When I asked if he was getting better he told me
no and that he cant stand on his feet. I just told him I was
friend and didnt elaborate any further let alone pass on any
best wishes from anyone else.
I am going to try and visit Peter very soon and try and find out
more and will of course pass on the good wishes of you all. I
did ring the Hospital yesterday to ascertain if he was still
there and find out what ward he is on. They did tell me but when
I asked how he was they said no change but they dont give
details over the phone.
Peter must have been in hospital about 6 weeks or more now and
there has to be real concern about him because no one stays in
hospital indefinitely, you eventually get discharged one way or
another. Whatever, I think his Schooldays and Party days are
definitely over. In his own way he has been such a big part of
both and we shall all miss seeing him there. I will update if
and when I know anymore.

The Headmistress started of the school day with a page of Maths.
Five problems to solve.

For our 2nd lesson, the Headmistress wanted to talk
about her recent holiday.
She and her partner spent a few days in Italy, in a town called
Il Palio.
Twice a year there is a wild horse race around the town.
Eight sets of races, each with ten horses and god help anyone
who falls off.
The event is very expensive, some of the better seats cost more
than £200 each.
Then 10 questions just to see who was listening.

The Headmistress left the room to organise school dinner.
Miss Ros Dubois was left in charge, and wanted to have a lesson
in Spanish.
We were asked to write a sentence in Spanish, then translate
into English.
The Deputy Headmistress was still having problems getting around
with her foot in a boot frame.
