Report of the March School Day.

Report of the March Mixed School Day.
Saturday 10th March 2018, Starting at 12.00 Lunchtime.
Report from Beril.
Not to well attended with only 5 paying customers today.
SO who all came along today....
Miss Stephanie Hardcastle, Headmistress.
Miss Ros Dubois, Deputy Headmistress.
No Headgirl today.
Pupils..
Alex Evens
Alex Colwell.
Beril Reid.
Martyn Slater.
Lee Higgins.
Gazza McDonald Tewit.
Steven Riveria.
and in the evening we were joined by Roy Black.
Ian Gold ( Goldie) sent in his apologies, he cant get along
today
as his mum is unwell, but he phoned the boss at lunchtime.

The Headmistress wanted to start the school day
with a talk on her recent visit with her family and Miss Ros
Dubois
To Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland.
We were required to make notes.
The Auschwitz concentration camp was a network of concentration
and extermination camps built and operated by Nazi Germany in
occupied Poland during World War II. It consisted of Auschwitz I
(the original concentration camp), Auschwitz II–Birkenau (a
combination concentration/extermination camp), Auschwitz
III–Monowitz (a labor camp to staff an IG Farben factory), and
45 satellite camps.

Our first general knowledge test of the day,
with questions like name one of the likely lads that died
recently, Rodney Bewes.
Chemical symbol for Sodium = Na
A Comedy show on in the 1956/57 = The Goons..
Some did better than others..

Next followed a Maths test -
Three problems for everyone to figure out..
Problem No 1.
200 - 240 - 160.
A boy gains 75% 50% 60% in a test,
What is the total marks he gains.
What is his percentage of all three papers.
The mean average % of all three..
Problem No 2.
A man earns 4/9d per hour, for the first 44 hours.
and a third more for extra hours.
He works 8.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday with 1 hour for
lunch.
And 8.00am to 12.30 on the Saturday.
How much is he paid for the weeks work.
Problem No 3.
A clock gains 5 seconds every hour,
I put it right at 9.00am on Monday (but do not alter it)
On Wednesday Afternoon at 3.00pm - What time will it show..
Think you will agree, ""bit of a bugger""
Very few got that right..

Now, just before we break for lunch,
An English word test.......
O - I - L

N - A - B
Pass mark 15.
3 points if you guess the 9 letter word.
Each Word must have four or more letters.
Every word must have a letter "C" in it.
NO rude/swear words.
NO towns - slang expressions..
Here goes,,
Action, Cobalt, Anabolic, Tonic, Blanco.
Botanic, Taco, Canal, Icon, Canter,
Cote, Clan, Clinta Coin,
and of course the 9 letter word (at the end).

Time to break up for half an hour for School Dinner,,
Best part of the day, a tasty snack, washed down
with a nice hot cup of coffee, and a good chance to catch up
with a the gossip..

After the school dinner break the Headmistress followed on
with two General Knowledge tests...
But when there is some water pistols going round
It is "what's the word I am looking for" FOOLHARDY to go
and squirt the boss, when she is running the tests,
TROUBLE will follow...

The UPLIFTER is full up,
That means the photo section is full up,
NO more photos until I clear a load of the old photos out.
SO lets look back at some of the old reports and see
what can be removed..

"OH NO" not another page of Maths..
Five problems on "Power Roots".
All to the power of 4..
1. 4/4.
2. 7/4.
3. 12/4.
4. 13/4.
5.17/4.
That kept everybody busy for ages,
Those naughty girls just cant help themselves
fighting and swearing..
In this school, the use of bad language has an rather unusal
punishment...
Sucking on a bar of carbolic soap for 10 seconds..
