Hi Beril. Sounds like some very naughty pupils in detention.
My Latin is rather creaky so the best I can do is, "Desinit in
lacrimas." ( It will end in tears )
I'm sure that Price can do better.

Excellent report and pictures, as always, Beril.
It was a great afternoon, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
My word, those girls were very naughty indeed!!
Also, it was a good job Headmistress didn't catch you assuming
the role of Head Girl in her office, and threatening to cane us
all.
What would she have thought?

Curtis: Glad you are well and if you think your Latin is a
bits"creaky" then you are in good company: mine is also a little
rusty after so many years since I had to study it.
Now settled back into home life after a more than usually
long stay at the family second home in France, we all took the
opportunity to tour by car round several neighbouring
countries-very interesting: we heard the general reaction of a
good number of well informed people to our vote to leave the
European Union. It ranged from " Have the normally sensible
British taken leave of their senses ". To " Forgive them
Father for they know what they do" to. " Their most calamitous
act of self harm since Suez in 1956 ". The recent statement by
Donald Tusk that "The door is still open until March 1919" was
encouraging at least.
As I told you some time ago my book was warmly received by
a good few people to the extent that the publishers have urged
me to follow it up with an update to further the narrative of my
life. What do you think; you have read the first part?
It is comforting to know that the coarse insult about it
being useful only as " toilet paper " is shared by no one
else; I think it must be lonely being in a minority of one!
You have to make allowances though: Sine cerebrum est.

I read the book and enjoyed it very much. Particularly the
drunken episode in the sand dunes. I can't think why you did not
pass as Napoleon! Perhaps you had the wrong hat on.
There was also much that tugged at the heart strings. I look
forward to the sequel.

Curtis:Very glad you enjoyed the book. It engendered some
amusement among readers too I. I chuckled myself as I was
writing it. I was let off lightly over the sandune episode but I
suspect nepotism was at work there!
The Headmistress enjoyed reading it too; she has a copy.
