Apr 29 Schoolday - Homework & School trip news
DIR By: slater

---------------------------------------------------------
The Homework for this Saturdays Schoolday, April 29, has now
been set by the Headmistress. It is,
Prepare a 5 minute speech about a subject of your choice.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This years School trip is once more set for Doncaster Races
Ladies Day on Thursday 14 September
Early bird tickets are available at a substantial £10 discount
if purchased by 31 May
Grandstand tickets are thus £25 instead of £35 on the day
although there is a £2:50 booking fee so that makes the price
£27:50 although that is offset by the fact that the offer also
includes a free pint of beer or a glass of wine.
Similarly county tickets are £51:50 + £2:50 instead of £61:50
on the day
The Headmistress thinks it best we go for the cheaper option in
the Grandstand this year because we can never get a table on the
County Lawns, whilst we can still get excellent seats in the
Grandstand just above the winning post.
The other reason for going for Grandstand is that anyone 65 and
over can buy a ticket for the Grandstand on the day for half
price. That offer is not available for County. As its expected
some of our party will be 65+ then its best we all buy
Grandstand. If buying a 65+ ticket on the day, you do need to
bring photographic ID with you when you purchase your ticket,
unless you look like old father time :D
For those of us still under 65 I will be purchasing early bird
tickets next month. If you would like me to get yours, can you
let me have £27:50 at this Saturdays Schoolday please. If you
want to go to on the trip but wont be at this weeks Schoolday,
can you post on here that you would like me to get you an early
bird ticket.
If you are 65+ and plan on paying on the day, can you let us
know that as well, so that we know the numbers that are going
and can share meet up plans.
