       Sad news

       We have received sad news today that former long serving pupil
       Beril Reid has passed away.
       Beril was a stalwart of the school from its very early days when
       formerly known as West Riding Grammar School right through till
       we moved into the current premises, and she only stopped coming
       a couple of years ago when getting up the stairs became too much
       for her.
       Always remembered for being the wanabee Head girl and always
       passing all the tests. She always loved to dress up at this time
       of year as Father Christmas too.
       R.I.P Beril, we will raise a glass to you at School this Xmas
       time

       This is very sad news. Beryl was a stalwart of the school. Both
       Timmins and I will retain happy memories of Beryl and her
       antics.

       Yes indeed. Very bad news. I only heard this last week. As I
       recall Beryl had the record for attendance. Up until her
       illness, she attended every single school day. She also made
       lovely figurines for decoration. She was definitely unique; the
       kind of reliable conscientious unassuming supporter that helped
       make life easier for our beloved headmistress.
       Beryl was one of the few pupils, maybe the only one, capable of
       attending a schoolday without receiving any kind of punishment.
       Another little know fact about Beryl is that she once swam the
       English Channel. I am sure there are many more accomplishments
       that we never heard about because of her modesty.
