Report of the April Detention Class.
Thursday 18th April 2019. Starting at 1.30pm.
Report from Beril.
Who all came along today ?
Miss Stephanie Hardcastle, Headmistress.
Miss Alex Evans, Head Girl.
Beril Reid.
Steven Rivirea.
Bill Benson.
Gazza McDonald Tewit.
and two new lads,,
Richard Hendon from Manchester.
John Bention from Belgium.
six paying customers all here for some fun and games.

The Headmistress and Miss Alex did not even arrive in class till
after 2.00pm,
then started the coffees and warm drinks.. finding heaters..
plugging everything in..
time was getting on before we even got started
Our first lesson was going to be a page of Maths - Square Roots.

Two really good tips on how to work these out.
The Square Root of 14 - means 14 X 14 = 196. (the number
multiplied by its self)
---------------------------------------------
7/4 Seven to the power of 4 really means 7/3
Example.
7x7 = 49 (one)
49x7 = 343 (two)
343 x7 = 2401. (three)
Answer 7/4 = 2401.
Using those basic rules, bloody hell got all ten correct.

Our next lesson - An Old English Word puzzle.
O - R - E
----------
G - B - O
----------
M - A - N
All the standard rules apply..
Four or more letters in each word.
Each word must have the letter "B" in it.
NO rude /swear words.
Pass mark 20 words/points.
3 points for the full nine letter word.
Full amount of words 2O+
Bloody hell, nobody is going to guess the 9 letter word.
Not even if you are an Australian...
Here goes...
Boom, bran, orbe, grab, bore, bane,
bank, bear, barge, baron, bean.
beano, bemon, boar, bone, bongm bongo
boom, boomer, boon, boor, bore
born, borne, brag, brane, broom ebon
and that elusive 9 letter word - tell you later..

A general knowledge test on the Kings and Queens of England.
Ten questions, 70% pass mark.
Questions like - Who signed the Magna-carta, - King John (15th
June 1215.)
or name the Virgin Queen, - Queen Elizabeth I.
or name the two Queens beheaded by King Henry VIII - Ann Bolin -
Catherin Howard..
not everyone reached the pass mark.

The Headmistress was telling us that an old mate of hours
Mike Gibson had been back for a 1-2-1 session,
and she invited him to come back to school and enjoy a school
day.
It would be great to see Mike again.

Next followed a multiple choice test, followed by
a general knowledge test..
Now if you did not manage to get the pass mark..
a bit of padding might be the ideal thing..
