All forms of cancer and fatal blood disorders are devastating
not only to the individual but the family as well. It's really,
hard to play God and seek out which ones to cure first. I
believe in my heart like Dr. Neil Rosenstein that all cancers
have some kind of common thread and that one day we will
discover how to eliminate it from our DNA. Being a stem cell
transplant patient myself I can tell you firsthand that medicine
has made remarkable advances in reversing and stabilizing cancer
patients with good use of stem cells from cord blood, placentas,
and aborted fetuses. I know that there has been a lot of
opposition to stem cell research but I thank God for it so that
I can be here today to give you these words. If there is nothing
else that you feel you can do there is always something more. If
you are between 18 and 49 please make it a point of signing up
with the "Be The Match Foundation "they are easily accessed on
the Internet and to sign up all you have to do is fill out the
survey form that you receive from them and use 2 bucal swabs or
Q-tips to collect your DNA and send it to the lab. If you or
someone you know is pregnant take 5 min. and consult with your
obstetrician about donating your cord blood and placenta. It is
a wonderful way to give a living gift of a transplant. I pray
that one day they'll be no need for the words oncology, cancer
or blood disorders. I pray that it happens one day soon.
