       On December 1st 2009, the Cape Party was the only organization
       to commemorate the 175th Anniversary of the abolition of slavery
       in the Cape. The march started in the Bo Kaap stopped at the old
       Slave Lodge Museum, and ended with an address at parliament by
       celebrated slave historian and former UWC rector Prof. Richard
       van der Ross. Professor van der Ross sadly passed away on
       December 13th last year. #celebrateourhistory
