au files after crash
By: Honk Date: June 5, 2014, 8:42 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Hello people,
I have Audacity 1.1.3 taken me about 60 minutes of audio from
the TV. When I had gdrückt the Stop button, Win2000 rushed me
off unfortunately.
To my horror the temp folder was empty after a reboot. So I've
been using a unerase tool restores all nearly 900 files and
wanted to restore the whole thing with your recovery software.
But she breaks off and writes the following in the log:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "audacity_recovery.py", line 157, in?
File "audacity_recovery.py", line 92, in MainLoop
ValueError: invalid literal for int (): 00000b1.A
Where is the problem? The recording is very important for me, or
has anyone of you today on 30/12/2004 "The there only once"
recorded at 12:30 on the mission rbb? Unfortunately, the program
will not be repeated heul *
In advance thank you for your answer,
Honk

ok, the first error message was due to a wrong file names. I've
fixed, but now in the log:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "audacity_recovery.py", line 157, in?
File "audacity_recovery.py", line 115, in MainLoop
File "aufile.pyo", line 49, in __ init__
aufile.Error: bad magic number
What's the Magic Number Wrong?

Markus knows perhaps how one can cobble together on foot again
(mine is Audacity - never so hard crashed, the half I know that
not - thankfully) but I know a link to the rbb where you can get
a copy (but I do not know if they that will have something for
it, but you can ask yes times)
HTML http://www.rbb-online.de/_/service/beitrag_jsp/activeid=40<br
/>...
maybe so, what's the use - edgar

This means that the AU file can not be read because it contains
an incorrect information in the header. Normally this means that
the data in the AU-File scrap (or at least the header). If you
use undelete, it may well be that certain information not be
restored or wrong.
But it is also conceivable that it is up to Audacity 1.1.3: the
current version is 1.2, and 1.1.3 is quite old (and was also ne
unstable beta and not for use in the "real thing" is
recommended). The recovery tool has never been tested with it.
Sorry!
Markus

Thank you for your tip, but the rbb will see for 50 Euros. Is
too much for me.
@ Mark: Thanks for your answer. When I open the files with
Audacity, I only hear a short click. I know there is a lot of
work, but there is a possibility of the piece together by hand
again?

Hi Honk -
I thought to myself, yes almost something - that's just public
law officials television ( I am almost sure that it also gives a
paragraph somewhere in the country's media law in the
Berlin-Brandenburg is that the need to cost just 50 euros ... )
Bullshit aside - I have made the following
experiment ( Audacity 1.2.3 on Windows XP) : I 've got something
accepted as au- Gebrösel in the temp folder. . Then I have the
"Import Raw Data" , the parts will be read again - Audacity has
the format correctly identified by itself - that went . If it
does not work you should best the recording format and the
sample rate of the original recording know , otherwise you 're
only try it for a while employed there until something useful
comes out with . . Moreover: what this looks like exactly by "
crashed " au -files you have to try in doubt and in 900 files
You are of course also a busy few days - but perhaps you 'll get
lucky .
What I have found : My admission was 32- bit float stereo .
b00000.au contained the left channel , 1.Stück in 32 -bit float
mono, b00001.au contained the right channel , 1.Stück in 32 -bit
float mono
b00002.au contained the left channel , 2.Stück in 32 -bit float
mono, b00003.au contained the right channel , 2.Stück in 32 -bit
float mono ... etc
But I was then able to sit down with "Edit> Copy" (ctrl -c) and
" Edit> Paste " (ctrl -v) relatively easily back them.
If it's short rushes at the beginning of the audio track that is
the file header ( the administrative part of the file ) - for me
it was not , but since you obviously have irgenwelche file
header problems yes ( for File Recovery ) is the most likely
with you the case. The file header is "theoretically" at all. Au
-files of the same size . ( it is the same as above : at "
crashed " files can be different ) . If he actually should be
the same size anywhere You can use the " 0-byte offset " to use
it to automatically skip ( the exact number but you have to try
) . This saves you then definitely again a lot of work .
Maybe that works, yes - good luck - edgar
