Last year, Ems (Mrs Jinks) didn't enjoy the walk as those at the
front were going too fast and not waiting for those at the back
to catch up. Is there anyway to keep the group together this
       time?

I’m sorry to hear that she didn’t enjoy the walk. It’s not the
first time this point has been raised. :(
I’m sure those at the front aren’t doing this intentionally -
they might not realise, it may not cross their minds, or they
might think there are enough people behind them to accompany the
       slower walkers.
My suggestion would be to make an announcement before setting
off - something along the lines of “remember it’s a group walk,
so we need to stick together and give people time to catch up
       before moving on”.
Maybe we could count how many people there are before setting
off, and check that everyone is at each cache location before
announcing that we can move on to the next?
In addition, we could have a few volunteers staying at the back
of the group for the duration of the walk.

       Some good points Griff Grof.
George will make the announcement when the walk is assembled ref
its a 'group walk' and for people to try and keep together.
George and Jamie [ our Grandson] will be 'tail end Charlies' and
ensure no-one is left behind. They did this on the 2017 walk.
Anyone got any other thoughts on how to manage this problem?

I've been one of those that goes from the front to the back and
back to the front, etc trying to chat with most but it's a good
point, it is a group walk and we should stick together
(hopefully not from mud!). Sorry Ems, there was a steep bit that
       split us up :(
Moving on as a group at each cache should make the group stick
       together.

Do we know how many caches there are going to be on the walk.
We are currently 27 caches to reach the magic 20000. We would
love to get our milestone on the 29th at the event. We have to
tailor our caching to be at the right number.

Hi Grizzly Pair - there are 20 caches + the event which should
give you 21 on the day. Hope this helps you plan your caching.

That certainly does take the pressure off us as we have recently
sold our house and reserved a brand new one up in East
Yorkshire. I am up to my ears in sorting things out and
ferrying paperwork to solicitors etc. So I am struggling to
find time to get out and cache. Really looking forward to the
event. At the Twixmas event in 2008 Walk Tall and ourselves
reached our 2000th cache . Since then cachewalker has seen us
reach several other landmark numbers so it just seemed fitting
to celebrate our 20000th cache at maybe our last cache walker
(Unless we can beg a bed with Garry and Ems for future years).

Hope you manage to find 6 more caches before the event, but the
weather is so awful at the moment - not conducive to walking and
       caching ATM. >:(

We have a GSAK file for the caches on Sunday for those who would
like to download them onto their GPS the night before, on the
understanding that no-one gets up at the crack of dawn to nab
the FTF's. Please e mail George at gwhenham@gmail.com if you are
       interested in receiving the file.
WARNING - guard dogs will be deployed to protect the caches from
       Sat evening ;D.
