I had been looking forward to this event for quite a while even
with the ominous forecast. I was encouraged by the good turnout
in the atrocious weather conditions, I really thought more would
cry off. I does make me wonder why we get so few visitors to
this forum when so many people seem to enjoy the events and
       walks the group provide.
If I am honest I was upset how the GROUP walk went, as Mrs TJ
has always suffered with a bad knee and I am nursing a groin
strain at the moment neither of us are the fastest walkers. This
has never been a problem at the other events, with regular
breaks and a group chat about half way round. Today, we saw one
cache from a distance and that was it, by the time we got back
to the hall there were people already inside eating their lunch
and we weren't the last to finish. Mrs TJ and Maggie were soaked
and fed up so we took the decision to forego the event and went
       home to dry out.
I shall return when the weather is nicer and log the caches when
I know what they look like and where they were. Glad the event
went well looks like everyone had a nice time.

Sorry to hear that TJ :(
I wondered where you had gone by the time I got back to the
hall, as waited for cachers collecting info for my new CM cache
and then I went with some cachers to my new caches.

So sorry to hear you were both struggling with a health problem
       - I think you did extremely well to get round the route in the
awful conditions - especially the sticky and slippy mud [ having
had knee surgery myself always makes me anxious in these
       conditions]
I agree the pace was fast, but as it was our first walk with the
group we assumed that was the normal pace. I certainly struggled
at times - in the muddy ruts and up the hills. I couldn't follow
the route, nor have time to look at my gps so just followed the
group. Perhaps the fast pace was indicative of the wish to get
back to the hall and get dry and warm again? You were missed at
the event - I heard several people wonder where you were.
So are all the people who attended the event registered on
cachewalker? I was surprised at the number of attendees
considering the very few people who contribute to the forum.
Lets hope for better weather at the next twixmas/twinew event,
so that everyone can enjoy it.

[member=150]Hogshunters[/member] - normally we have at least one
stop, usually people breakout some chocs or mince pies and the
good old Thermos flasks and have a chin wag but with such poor
weather, it seemed people wanted to get round and back to the
hall as quick as possible :(
Except for the one FTF I wanted, I was more at the back than the
       front.
There was talk about having one when the weather should be
better, say early or late summer. Not sure how much interest
there is in doing a "CacheWalker in the Sun" walk and Event?

We could do one on Dovers Hill in the summer, we could all go
for a picnic. That should be a good idea. 🤓🤔
