I've had my thinking cap on as well but no luck yet.
Will any of us be able to place the caches? If so then we can
find a location that way, but if not I can email Marrow Bone to
see if he still can, as he offered months ago.
Also: January 3rd. I suggested this date, and every other date I
have suggested has brought bad weather along with it. Should we
       change it? ;) :D

Not as yet, been more thinking about: GIFF, our village bonfire
night, new village hall and not been caching for a while :(

Perhaps a good move would be to email Marrow Bone who last year
offered to place some caches for a future Twixmas event.
If he says yes and has an idea of where to place them, that
could be a good way forward to focus in on possible venues.
Is everyone happy for me to do this?
If he says he can't (which is likely) we'll cross that bridge
when we come to it :D

I'm just wondering, were you planning to potentially place some
       caches for this one [member=3]walktall[/member],
       [member=9]Wrighty[/member], or anyone else?
Don't worry if not, it's just so that I can give Marrow Bone a
more concrete answer if none of us can do it :)

So would it be better to find a venue first, then see where a
new series could go? I've been thinking about it the other way
       round. :D
Obviously the caches would need to be in a convenient location
       for whoever hides them. :)

       It's all linked really.
Need to find somewhere where caches can be placed on a walk of
about 4 miles long, with a suitable event location. Some places
can be dismissed straight away from either: too many caches, no
       suitable walk or venue.

       True.
Bourton on the Water area? No series' around there after the
       Philosopher's Stone one was archived.
Looking through some walking route books... more ideas:
Ditchfords could work, starting in Todenham (5 miles, but
includes 1/2 mile linear diversion to medieval village so
       probably 4ish).
I've never walked around there before, is it nice?
       Todenham has a Village Hall
  HTML http://www.grcc.org.uk/village-hall-database/village-hall/todenham-village-hall<br
/>and even a pub with function room
  HTML http://www.thefarriersarms.com/the-village-forge-function-room/,<br
/>although it looks a bit fancy for walkers! :o :D
       UPDATE:
Marrow Bone has also said that he'd be happy to place some
caches in the Shenignton/Tysoe area. (Tysoe Village Hall
  HTML http://www.tysoe.org.uk/facilities/tysoe-village-hall/).

So, I think it'll come down to which area we want the event to
be in. Nice to have options, and very kind of Marrow Bone to
       offer as well ;D
