Twinew 2016
By: Griff Grof Date: August 11, 2015, 12:13 pm

It's a bit early to start talking about this, but always good to
get discussion going and ideas bouncing about :)
With regards to the date, we could go with Sunday 27th Dec OR
Sunday 3rd Jan - depending on whether the Imber event clash
bothers us?
No idea at the moment when it comes to the venue. Think the
village hall format works well, but then again it's always nice
to have an event in a pub so I'd be happy to arrange things as I
did in 2012 if that's what we want :)
If we're too busy to place caches this time round, I recall that
Marrow Bone emailed StrongsRus (who forwarded it to me) offering
to place a series for a future CW event, so I could contact him
to see if he's still interested?
Looking forward to your comments :)

I will keep both those dates clear on the works calendar.

With family, it's not until a few weeks before Christmas I know
what I'm doing but we normally have a get together on Boxing Day
and then another day upt norf, before heading back down. So, the
27th might not be possible for me.

Thanks for sharing that [member=125]Baddesley bodgers[/member]
As TJ has logged a Will Attend and I'd maybe like to go too, is
everyone happy to postpone this one to Sunday January 3rd?
This also gives us just a little more time. Could call it
'Twinew' but I do like the 'Twixmas' name :D
Now to get the ball rolling with regards to the location...

That's fine with me, as I've already said I might not be around
on the 27th December and that's looking more likely now, could
well be still upt norf.

Has anyone got an idea with regards to location?
I guess the best way of thinking about it is working out where
we'll place the caches - I suppose we could walk my new series,
as I'll hopefully have time to place it before - but, then
again, maybe not as I will be very busy in the coming weeks and
it could be an extra stress.
Also, the problem with group walks is that hardly anyone gets to
see the caches, and there were going to be a few special ones on
the series, so that's the only thing which makes me think
perhaps this isn't the sort of series for an event, especially
since the route is 6.2 miles - we normally say 5ish max! :-\
If anyone was planning something slightly shorter, we could have
a look for a venue around there?

Griff - If you have some special ones in your new series, I
would keep this as a separate series and not use it for Twixmas,
as the walk is quite a social walk with some caching added in :)
Also, 6.2 miles is a bit long for the Twixmas walk.
