       Waymarking

Now you may ask why am I on Waymarking.com ::) ???
Well, thought as I had cached out Witney and was there on
Saturday [s]shopping[/s] and had some time to kill, thought I
       would bag some waymarks :)
I had forgotten how poor the Waymarking.com web site is :o It is
unbelievable that GS run gc.com and waymark sites but are
       totally different.
To download waymarks, if you want the full information, you have
to download each one individually :o :o :o You can download a
page at a time, 25 waymarks but you can only get the GPX lite
file version of the waymarks, which only have the very basic
info and not the important bit on what info you need to claim
       the waymark :o ??? :o ???
And PQ's - nope not on Waymarking >:(
You want them on your GPS - good luck :o
After a bit of manipulation on GSAK, I've now got them as
Virtual geocaches on my GPS with their waymark number 'WM....'
Any one else daft enough to do any Waymarking ???

       You found Waymarks, [member=3]walktall[/member]?! :o :D
I agree that the website is awful compared to Geocacaching.com!
I've considered finding Waymarks, as there are a few nearby, but
have simply not got round to it, and I'm put off as soon as I
       connect to the website. :D
I still think that Virtuals should just be brought back!
They're good to find and why can't there be separate reviewers
like there is with Earthcaches in order to quality-control them?
Maybe even the Earthcache reviewers themselves could do that?
I think that's why Challenges failed as well... Why can't they
just merge the idea of Virtual finds? They could just merge
Geocaching and Waymarking? The categories (if kept) could add a
new element to it, I would restrict it to the Virtual cache
       type.
Either that, or modernise the website :D
PS - shocking about GPS issues, I never imagined that would
       happen! :o

In Witney, I ended up using "GCzII" on my smart phone (had the
GPX lite download on my phone) due to the issues of getting the
waymarks onto my GPS, but now that is resolved, as I now know
what I need to do :)

For finding Waymarks 'on the go' with a mobile phone, try
  HTML http://www.chilehead.us/waymarking/
       (chilehead.us/wm will link
       too)
Gives access to the Waymarking site, allows logging (Visit) and
to post your own Waymark (or get the relevant photos/
information to do a write up at home.)
It has been set up with the approval of GS. But goes to show
what can be done, and could be done so much better with some
thought and money by GS themselves, if only they cared!

After using GCzII, I could see that 'on the go' would work well
but once I leave home, no Internet for me, so I need to have all
       the info with me.
