       Up another mountain in July?
   DIR By: Griff Grof

There has been some talk regarding a possible TJ On Tour event
       in late August.
Additionally, or instead, I was wondering whether people would
be interested in going up another mountain in July?
The thought behind this? Well, not all of us could make Snowdon
two years ago, and I need something to look forward to after
exams (have a 'gap' month before term officially finishes) :D
Also, we can hope for good weather, it being July, and is before
all the Mega hassle and people going on holiday etc.
Just a small thought for now - please give your opinion below
       :)

       ;D
Any suggestions for a mountain to climb? :D Or mountains, such
       as the Four peaks.

Well I would say (As you know what you are letting yourself in
       for) Pen Y Fan.
Or if you want to go a bit closer Sugar Loaf. Or, personally I
have always fancied climbing The Blorenge and claiming Wales 1st
       Cache (GC2BA)

Pen Y Fan - this would be good, and not too tough, so a draw to
more people. Could even do the whole horseshoe, perhaps without
Fan y Big to cut it a bit short if people are worried about
       time.
Sugar loaf - closer to home, not been there before. Again, not
too tough (judging by the height of it?)
The Blorenge - Wales first cache is a motif to go up there,
       heard it's very nice :)
Or, more extreme, another chance for those who didn't climb
Snowdon in 2012 ??? Although this would discourage those
       attendees from attending :-\
EDIT TO ADD: Or High Tea - was this discussed last year?
       Any more ideas/comments?

       Now there's interesting.
Just loaded GSAK with the start of the weeks PQ's, and in the
       Earthcaches: Sugarloaf

Blorenge is easy if you park by the masts, as we did, quite a
slog if you approach from Abergavenny (probably depending on how
fit you are I guess). We drank fizzy when we did first in Wales
       in May 10...
Not done any of the others though.

Maybe this calls for a poll? Personally, I like the idea of Pen
y Fan... Although I have been around there before, and obviously
a few of us have even done the whole walk.
TJ, have you been up Sugarloaf - is it worth it?

No, not been there so can't comment on its value

       Ok :)
Well, I think if we want the event to be especially significant,
a real talking point and more of a 'rare' day(s) out, Snowdon is
       the obvious choice.
If we want it to be 'easier' to make it more accessible, and
have a good day's walk with lovely scenery then the Brecon
Beacons Horseshoe (or part of it) is a good choice. Similarly
with Sugar Loaf and the Blorenge, I reckon these will be easier
       still.
One thing that crossed my mind earlier: shelter. You never know
with the weather (remember July 2007 floods) so could it be too
much of a risk to put the event location somewhere so exposed...
At least Snowdon has the advantage of the cafe :D
TJ, sorry to keep asking Q's - can you remind me what/where High
tea is - am I correct that it's in this general area?
