I've heard about this too - wonder if they're Geocoins :D ;D

As promised, end of February, the event has been sent for
review.
Keep your fingers crossed for the weather. I have been lucky so
far, CW went welsh in niceish weather and we had a good stroll
around Meon Hill without any rain.

Event Cancelled.
GC.com want proof of acceptance to hold the event from the
Landowner. I am loathe to chase this up in case it highlights
other caches on the hill to them and they request a mass
archive.
Unless Wrighty has a contact with the Landowner and they know
all about Geocaching.

That's a real shame :(
Understand your concerns and fair play to you.

You could just not mention Geocaching ??? :D
To be honest, I don't see why you would need to request
permission to walk along a right of way to meet other people at
another point on a right of way.
I see your point though, and so maybe it is best to call it off
to avoid problems.

@TarmacJohn, as I said on Cortswold Caching, the published
coordinates for my 4* Severn bore event cache
(coord.info/GC4Y418
HTML http://coord.inf
o/GC4Y418) are in effect at the side of public
highway and that was publised without question, so why don't you
try that angle with your event cache and then potentillay add
the location you'd wanted to meet up at as an addional waypoint
of some sort?

tj, can the official event place coords be moved to somewhere
else, a pub at the bottom of the hill etc (I really don't know
the area at all, so have no idea of the possibility), and then a
walk be done up the hill?
Or don't make it an official event, it might not be as popular
an event but some people would still come? And/or make it an
event on another listing site?
Just some thoughts.

Did you check Magic Map
HTML http://benchmarks.org.uk/magicmapit.php?
I put in the
co-ordinates for the path right next to the Tower and got:
HTML http://i910.photobucket.com/albums/ac310/rissi_david/BredonHill_zpsc8309e70.jpg
The Orange are is: Scheduled Monuments
The green strip area is: SSSI (Sites of Special Scientific
Interest)
Perhaps this is why they want the permission?

Good ideas SangueG - if GC will not list it, have it listed on
another caching site (or several).
Or we have a CacheWalker classic - a walk, then an Event but
then there is all the details to be sorted at the Event
location. Or still have an outdoor picnic at a designated picnic
spot i.e. N52 04.055 W002 01.470 by Elmley.
Whatever, I would still come for the walk and then perhaps a
pint afterwards but if the weather is good, who wants to go
inside - bring a can with you :)

CacheWalker does Everest (Take 2) submitted. Moved the location
to a public picnic area.
The intention is for CacheWalkers to meet 9am ish in the morning
and go for a walk up the hill and back grabbing a few caches.
Then return to the event GZ for the event. Anyone fancy it?
