Looking for a particular view

Doing research on my upcoming Cotwolds trip I read about a place
that's at the upper side of a valley and looks down over the
valley below. It's got a spectacular view for miles and miles.
Ooh! I think 'birdbeak' or such was in the name. Sound
familiar? Thanks, LRB

The village Birdlip is at: N51°49.646 W002°06.468
The view point is at: N51°50.247 W002°06.064, this is NOT on the
A417 but on a dead end road just west of the A417. You can sit
in your car and enjoy the view but it is better out of the car
:)

Thanks so much for the replies. Exploring the Cotswolds will be
a highlight of my sojourn. LRB
PS. I just read that the Barrow Wake viewpoint at Birdlip is
an infamous 'dogging' spot. Hopefully the muggles won't be
watching me.

As long as you are not planning any night caching you'll be
fine. The views out over Gloucester on a sunny day are
fantastic. I won't tell you how pretty the view is at night with
Gloucester all it up so that no one jumps to conclusions about
my post... oh wait :o ;D
The Air Balloon pub is very close by too. I have only drank
there, so can't tell you if they do good food.
