Had a heron visit our garden over the last few days but hadn't
managed to get a photo till this morning :)
Pond netting checked and extra pegs added yesterday :o
This shot proves the heron is no dummy, not like the plastic
one!

Looks like a young 'un.
Wath small pets, if you have any, they will eat anything they
can get down their necks :o
One of the few success stories of the avian world, they are much
more prolific than they were 20+ years ago.

Very very occasionally I see one perched on top the roof of
nearby houses. Their size makes them look a bit surreal compared
to the pigeons and magpies that are normally found up there.

Found a cache I DNFed a couple of months ago - can't believe I
missed it! Then I couldn't find another one in the series so to
cheer me up....
We're sorted for the Halloween Mega near Corby (GC4YCAV) - heard
great things from loads of different folks recently and it's an
area we don't know. Anyone else been or going?
H.

'Near' Corby! :D
Not too far from my old stomping ground.
Done a few caches over that way, many now archived. :'(
But. Corby, bit of recent history around Corby (as in the steel
works) I have done Corby Steel #1 Corby Candle GC229AV, and
there's a few more in the series.
Church Micro 3189...Wilbarston GC409X3 nice church and village.
Stamford is very old history, have done the multi The Stamford
Taurus GCC5B7
Rutland Water is worth a visit with several caches around.
Oakham. I've always had my eye on the multi Multum In Parvo
GCVMXV (But never got around to it!)
Eyebrook Res with it's link to the Dam Busters...
(And not too far away, practice parachute landing area for WW2
'Operation Market Garden' (AKA: film A Bridge too Far) local
knowledge, not too well known!)

Today i had a good walk in the Lonborough,Batsford and Sezincote
area.Remembered where some of the Sezincote Stroll caches were
hidden and picked up a couple of tbs but the caches were in a
poor state and i now see some have been archived,a real shame
because it was a good series on a cracking walk.

Today I solved this newly published puzzle:
--untitled--
HTML http://coord.info/GC5CBQZ
As usual this was a clever puzzle, so pleased with the solve and
pretty confident with my two codes found for the lock I headed
on the 50 mile round trip to gz.
Cache was a nice quick find, although my codes were not correct,
and despite trying some 400 or so other codes which did not work
I decided that trying the whole 9,999 possibilities was taking
it a bit too far, so I left without signing the log.
Anyone else had a equally disappointing 'so close' experience?

What a shame, we feel for you, still at least it wasn't
raining...
Had a quick look at the cache page and couldn't make head nor
tail of it ;D :D, but not surprised as we're not very good at
these!
We.ve arrived at cache parking only to find we've left the info
at home more than once :'( :'(
