I know I didn't log a DNF but Omis and I couldn't find it on
Saturday, not that means much I know

More and more DNF logs pouring in - my bike is gone :'(
Mel's is now with Willow Wisps in Peru, clocking up nearly 6000
miles - BUT it breaks a rule:
4)Virtual drops will not be counted - TBs must be dropped &
collected by different Cachers (if moved on by the same Cacher
only the first jump will be counted)
So does this mean that, as it was a virtual drop (which TB run
shouldn't even be counting, but it has :o) and it was the first
move by the cacher, does that mean those miles don't count? :o
       - ouch! :-\

As the first jump was from Portugal to Peru, that is the one
       that counts.
Just as it says in the rules.

But it was a virtual (dip) which isn't allowed :o

collected by different Cachers (if moved on by the same Cacher
only the first jump will be counted)
       - The TB was Dipped (virtual drop) and is still in the hand of
       the cacher
       - as you said it was their first drop, but as that was a dip,
       does it count?
Thus returning to my original question on whether all those
miles should be counted or not :o :-\ (We must remember no
other dips have been counted and added to other bikes totals,
so, again, don't know why TB run has added it to Mel's - it's
set not to count them! :o)
In other news I think we should say once a bike goes missing it
can't re-enter into the race until next year - poor me! :'(
       does everyone else agree?
Edit: TB run adds mileage from the first dropped or visited ONLY
of each cacher. But does that agree with our published rules?
       ???

I might be the newbie here, but it doesn't go against the rules
IMHO because why make the person drop off, and then pick up
which is more work, when ONE dip is the same thing? I'm all for
them to dip only once, but to then drop off.
       Sorry to hear that Griff.

       - TBs must be dropped & collected by different Cachers
(if moved on by the same Cacher only the first jump will be

Should really be called a 'Visit' or 'Dip'
A Virtual Drop could be a drop made from your armchair, never
having been to the cache in person...
I know that that doesn't help the discussion much!
But do realise that you are after cachers to Drop the TB in to a
cache as soon as possible, rather than keeping hold of it and
       dipping it in several caches.
As for a comment on the situation, maybe ONE dip could be
       allowed?

Yes, maybe it should be altered to the first drop/dip will be
       counted?

My penny worth of Virtual dips:
TB's are in a race and must be moved on from one cache to
another by different cachers. This is impossible to do on a
Virtual, as there isn't a physical place to leave the TB.
So, no to Virtual dips and if the cacher who holds the TB hasn't
dipped it into a physical cache before this Virtual, then it's
the next physical cache that counts - dipped or dropped.

Umm, could someone please clarify, is this discussion about TB
dipped in a Virtual cache or TB being dipped in any cache?
