Would you climb on to a ledge with a long drop or ski down a
mountain for a cache?

A dog in trouble in the same water, the cache can always be
replaced anyway ;)
Would you rather find a cache on Christmas Day or on your
birthday?

Absolute no brainer there
Christmas day as there would be less chance of being muggled and
with any luck I may not be capable of caching on my Birthday
(except I do not drink that much so a couple of pints will do
that.
Would rather take a friends dog or his small child caching with
you (on your own) ?

Extreme cold. I can always add more layers to keep warm, whilst
if extremely hot there's only so much I can take off! :o :D
And on clothing...
Would you rather carry an umbrella, or wear a large water proof
coat if out for a long walk in heavy rain?
