If there is no reply by 4:00pm tomorrow, I will call him
directly, as his sister (who works with my dad) told me today.
The good news is she said:

So, fingers crossed :)
Is there anyone who wants to be on the organising committee? I'm
putting myself forward for it, since I am writing it up and
arranging the picnic part :D
I think even though we haven't got the go ahead yet, we should
have a committee in mind to start planning after we hopefully
get the green light - as wrighty said, we'd have to meet in
person sometime to discuss ideas - my dad says he has a few
too.... ::)
