Maybe... But what do you think about the above? Picnic or no
picnic? Group walk or no group walk?

Picnic but come pre-pared for weather as late Sept we never know
what we could get but I doubt it would be cold.
I would like a short walk with caches or some fun different
       caches to find.

I'd don't know now, perhaps it is too late into the year?
I agree about the walk, problem is there aren't any particularly
       Short ones around there ::)

       Back to topic
When it was first mentioned I thought it would be a short walk
with some caches and then a picnic when we had finished.
Only my own personal opinion but I would have thought that 2 - 3
miles would do for the walk, that way it can be attended by
everyone including children. Then we can focus on the main event
(the five year celebration), which is why we are doing the event
       isn't it.
I don't think we can worry about the weather as it can rain at
       any time. Remember July 2007.

;D Couldn't have put it better myself :)
I agree with you tarmacjohn, the whole point is the birthday
celebration, and the fact that it should be suitable for
everyone - Maybe we should set 4 miles as the maximum distance,
if anyone struggles to find a 2-3 mile one in the area?
Another positive of a shorter walk, is we can depart later, I
think 08:30 put a lot of people off, and with 2-3 miles we could
       start as late as 10?
Agree about the weather, it can change any time, perhaps I could
try and find an empty barn for him to let us use if worse comes
to worse? (I know, from walking round the farm, there are
several old barns in cracking spots) so then we would have an
       emergency back up venue  ::)
With hopefully one person sorting out the caches, then the rest
of us can contribute to the celebration, I am going to have a
cake made with the CacheWalker logo on it by the way.
I also thought, a neat idea would to do something like a secret
santa - everyone brings a present wrapped up, like a real
birthday, so everyone goes home with one?
Anyway, we can get to all that later :D
I better get arranging a good spot on the farm :o

For those interested in planning the walk, I was thinking of
this route... I think I have found the right place for the
picnic, but need to ask first to see... Is that route too long?
Can't see any way of making it shorter, myself... Unless, we
only did the square like bit at the start?

I think we need to remember the event is family friendly :o
       Maybe the square one?
       Let's have your thoughts
