Caches? "CacheWalker takes a break from the norm?" ::) ;D
I'd be able to sort most of the "arrangements" out (with my dad
knowing Adam, and working with his sister) , but it was just
caches that I had on my mind, don't know If I'd have time ???
Unless anyone else wants to sort the main part out? ::)

Griff - I think with your contacts, it may help if you sort the
Event and ask the question about caches, as I presume they
own/manage land round there and so, if there is anywhere they
must not be put.
Then, cachers with transport, can sort out some caches and where
to put them, taking into account what you have found out ;D
If several cachers are interested in placing caches, we could
make it a team effort and those interested could place a few
caches each ;D

Ok, that sorts it, I'm on it ;D
I will get the main stuff sorted out as soon as my dad comes
back, and sure he will escort us to several locations, one of
which I'll choose - I think it should be not far from the farm
park itself (so geo-kiddies and stuff can go there
during/before/after) but yet somewhere which is a good spot.
Would you like me also to negotiate placing caches, or shall I
leave whoever is planning the group walk to do that? Do we even
bother with permission?

Yes, the transport issue, another reason why I thought it
wouldn't be best for me to organise the walk ;) I could place a
few caches around not to be part of the walk, for people to find
during the picnic for FTF ect....
I think that the event should be family friendly, and appealing
to everyone :) Let's hope for good weather, it is a picnic ::)
Remember, it is very windy up there!

Been looking at the map for those interested ;D
Pin pointed what I know is an amazing route, having walked all
the paths (but not in that order)
Problem? Would reckon it is 10 miles min ::) We really would
need something shorter ;)
Could be shortened to about 6-7 if we take some minor roads....

I thought when we first mentioned the idea of this event it was
just going to be a picnic in a superb location with maybe a few
new caches or one multi on a short walk for people to do during
the day whenever they wanted. No mention of a group walk with
lots of caches.
Thinking about it more lately and wonder if the date is a bit
late in the year for a picnic event.Maybe it might be a better
idea for a summer month and think of something else/different
for the anniversary event.
Lets have your thoughts.

Yes, I do remember saying that ;)
I had been talking to various people at the event though, and
they all said that they wanted a group walk with it - after all,
that is what CacheWalker events are about, many are just a meet
with the odd cache here and there. I think that it wouldn't
attract as much people, many enjoy CacheWalker events partly
because of the addition of the group walk - whether there are
caches or not - but I'm not sure myself ???
I did think about the time of year for a picnic event - but it
really is the only logical time to organise it, if we are to do
so this year, for a few reasons. Firstly, CacheWalker events
tend to be once every 3 or 4 months - and, I thought the summer
one was Snowdon?... Wouldn't we all be too busy with that, and
other things, to organise two in one season? So, if you did want
to do something else for the anniversary, we'd have to leave the
picnic for next summer (or Spring), as obviously, December is no
time for any picnic :D
So, anymore thoughts? I'm happy either way, I guess you could
organise the picnic for August, but then that would be too close
to September, and do we really have the time to arrange 3 events
in 3 months? :-\
