       Dash Cams

I'm looking to get dash cams for our cars and thought I would
reach out to see who has experience with them. I think at least
Cid has one, but I suspect others do as well. I want one that is
front and rear facing and is good about being able to pull video
of any incidents (accident, theft, vandalism, whatever) within a
reasonable time frame. It looks like most are 1080p or higher so
not sure if resolution is a concern. I have no idea if there are
certain brands to look for or other key factors such as battery,
       connectivity, etc.
       Thoughts?

resolution shouldnt be a real concern, they are all pretty much
the same in realistic terms. rear facing cameras (after
factory) tend to have more install/setup work as they usually
have to have rear mounting considerations. mine is only front
facing but hangs from the window like a radar detector so it is
very convenient. mine has a mem stick in it that you can usb to
the PC but some newer ones have wifi or BT that you can dload
the video to your phone. both the one i have in my car and
mary's car are old so i wouldnt recommend them as far as options
but if you have ?s about the ones you are looking at, ill be
happy to look. i have had a lot of experience with it and
shopped them a number of times.

The rear camera in our cars is only when backing up and I'm
thinking of camera's that are always running in case of
accidents (like mine in my neighborhood in November or my wife's
hit and run where someone came in her lane) or anyone messing
with our cars in any way. Below are two options I found on
Amazon that are both front and rear facing that seem like good
options with one from the lower end and one the higher end. I'm
not sure if the higher end types are worth the extra money but
they do seem smaller with a few more features.

probably not worth 4x the cost for your first foray into
dashcams but i do like the more expensive model. my guess is
you'd have a good experience with that one but the other one
will likely be a solid performer at much reduced cost.
