Dynamo for QA/QC
By: kstalkie Date: March 16, 2017, 6:13 pm

Has anyone explored using Dynamo to help with QA/QC? For
example, we have created a script to help assign elements to the
proper workset before sending to a consultant. Does anyone have
other examples?

A colleague of mine does use Dynamo for basic model review, I'll
ask him about it and find out more info. I too am interested in
Model Review/Check methods and applications.

So Dynamo can be use to quantify and sort Data, through managing
data and information you can monitor the project. For example,
comparison of how many families or lines are created in the
model week to week, if you see a spike one week you can ask why,
what are the factors leading to this spike. Maybe it was
intentional, maybe it was from inappropriate modeling practice.
etc. Data is a powerful tool, Dynamo can help you organize and
sorting that information to analyse the modeling performance.
however, Dynamo is not perfect and it takes someone who is
proficient to run and manage the script...not me.. :P

I like the idea of using it as a monitoring tool. You can take
the concept even further by creating weekly updates throughout
the life of the project and at the end compile a report which
can inform resource scheduling on future projects. The key would
be, as with all big data tasks, determining which metrics you
want to measure.
