Augmented Reality

Has anyone successfully implemented augmented reality (AR) on a
project? It seems virtual reality (VR) has been used quite a bit
and integrated quite well into a BIM workflow. Personally I see
AR having a larger impact due to its social nature (multiple
people in the same room looking at the same thing) and the fact
that it is more portable (can still see where you're going).
I've seen plenty of testing, but has anyone used it on a
project? What was the experience like?

Definitely interested in seeing positive responses to this
question.

I haven't done it but one of the leaders in this area is in
Northern Europe - Finland. The state research agency VTT has had
a program on this stuff for well over a decade and they have
done many different applications and demos and have some
partnerships with industry there. Check out

I believe there is a huge opportunity in Health Care for AR. I
am currently getting approval to be on a committee for the VRARA
that looks at AR in Health Care. There are a lot of applications
yet to be discovered, I would love to bring this into the world
of Architecture.

Thank you for introducing me to VTT, they have developed some
pretty useful tools!
