       Size: 14-26 mm long
Info: Snail Eaters are medium-to-large beetles, with long
narrowing jaws and necks. They specialize in hunting snails and
slugs. Scaphinotus angusticollis is notable for having a
purple-black abdomen. Large individuals of this species are
called Suchomimus in DinoBugs, while smaller ones are called
Baryonyx. They have been known to kill caterpillars up to 30 mm
long, and probably can catch even larger ones.
