History

Hydra vs Stingray
Hydra was given the #4 seed and put up against the rookie
Stingray, armed with a windup horizontal

/>spinning bar
HTML https://bugforums.createaforum.com/lego-battlebots-wiki/spinning-bars/<br
/>and two front forks.
While Hydra didn't lose the ground game, its flipper was
rammed off. Eventually the fight went to JD and Ethan ruled in
favor of Stingray.
Hydra vs Tombstone
Tombstone's spinner
HTML https://bugforums.createaforum.com/lego-battlebots-wiki/spinners/<br
/>system had been badly damaged in its first fight, so it was
converted to a hand-powered spinner. Hydra was able to break off
Tombstone's weapon support and got under the other bot, landing
flip after flip before getting it stuck on its back. Hydra won
by KO and advanced to the next round to fight the former
champion Skeleton
HTML https://bugforums.createaforum.com/lego-battlebots-wiki/skeleton/.
While Ethan (who had driven Tombstone) wasn't trying too
hard and there were a few times he did nothing when he could
have backed up for another hit, Hydra had set the new record for
the most flips in one match—estimated at seven—and the highest
flip—estimated at 1'.
Hydra vs Skeleton
Dutch sharpened Hydra's forks extensively in preparation for
this match against Skeleton
HTML https://bugforums.createaforum.com/lego-battlebots-wiki/skeleton/.<br
/>Hydra won by KO in one hit as it got under Skeleton and flippe
d
it without even firing.
Hydra vs Chopper
Hydra took massive damage from Chopper
HTML https://bugforums.createaforum.com/lego-battlebots-wiki/chopper/<br
/>but survived to a judge's decision which it lost, eliminating
it.

Hydra vs Venom (pre-elimination round)
First up for Hydra was the new bot Venom, built by Nathaniel and
armed with a rubber-band-powered spiked ram. Hydra won by KO
with several flips and advanced to the first round.
Hydra vs Rocky
Hydra charged as Trent's robot fired its hammer. Rocky was
flipped by Hydra's wedge in the first exchange. Dutch chose to
flip Rocky back over to continue the match. This proved to be a
fatal mistake and Hydra tapped out after losing several
exchanges.
Patterson-Seibert Tournament 24
Hydra vs Floppy
Hydra was seeded against rival flipper Floppy. After a long and
brutal ramming match where Hydra proved to have the superior
ground game, both bots were KO'd. The judges determined that
Hydra was the winner. Hydra advanced to the second round to face
Skeleton again.
Hydra vs Skeleton
Hydra beat Skeleton the same way this time, only in about three
hits instead of one.
Hydra vs Chopper
Hydra lost its flipper and took damage to its armor, but ended
up winning by KO when Chopper broke itself apart.
Hydra vs Floppy (finals)
Hydra again proved to be the lower bot, but lost one of its four
wheels. Dutch had to drive carefully to avoid losing another,
and then he flipped one of Floppy's wheel pods. Floppy was
unable to self-right and was counted out, giving Hydra the
championship.
Patterson-Seibert Tournament 25
Hydra vs Spinner
Hydra easily controlled the fight until Spinner's contact point
was knocked off after a few hits. Hydra flipped the dead spinner
twice as it won by knockout, putting it up against the rookie
eggbeater
HTML https://bugforums.createaforum.com/lego-battlebots-wiki/eggbeaters/<br
/>Scrambler.
Hydra vs Scrambler
Hydra lost the entire top half of its chassis to ramming attacks
early on. However, Dutch realized that he might be able to flip
Scrambler with the forks, and it would be unable to self-right
with a broken weapon. Late in the game Hydra managed just this,
putting David's bot upside down. Scrambler was counted out and
Hydra won a very close KO and advanced to fight the winner of
the elimination bracket, which turned out to be Skeleton.
Hydra vs Skeleton (finals)
Hydra took the championship for the second time.
Patterson-Seibert Tournament 26
Hydra vs A Bone to Pick
Hydra won and advanced to the next round to face Skeleton for
the fourth time.
Hydra vs Skeleton
Hydra was rammed apart and joined the elimination bracket.
Hydra vs Scrambler
Hydra lost and was eliminated from the tournament for the final
time.
