GyroWave was a bot built by Dutch in 2021, and considered to the
greatest BattleBot built since the active weapon requirement was
introduced. It was armed with a horizontal

History
[attachimg=1]
GyroWave vs Minotaur II
GyroWave's first fight was against Minotaur II, the only other
bot at the time. Its weapon stopped but its armor was able to
take the hits from Minotaur's drum. It finally won, making it
the champion.
GyroWave vs Bite Force I
GyroWave's next fight was against the experimental vertical
HTML https://bugforums.createaforum.com/lego-battlebots-wiki/vertical-spinners/msg185/#msg185<br
/>spinner
HTML https://bugforums.createaforum.com/lego-battlebots-wiki/spinners/<br
/>Bite Force I
HTML https://bugforums.createaforum.com/lego-battlebots-wiki/bite-force-i/.<br
/>GyroWave disabled the vert's weapon and rammed the front in,
winning by KO.
GyroWave vs Stallion
GyroWave's next fight was against the new bot Stallion. The
fight began as Stallion attempted to get under Gyro and flip it,
but failed. Gyro was able to smash Stallion with its armor.
GyroWave vs Stallion
Dutch repaired and updated Stallion. This time, it managed to
get under Gyro, but the heavyweight was too heavy to flip and
the arm snapped off. Gyro won by KO after a few brutal hits.
GyroWave vs Beta Returns
GyroWave lost its weapon but won by KO.
Patterson-Seibert Tournament 1.0
GyroWave vs Son of Razor
GyroWave won this fight after losing its weapon. They fought
again to the same result.
GyroWave vs Tension
GyroWave flipped Tension over with the first weapon-to weapon
hit. However, as Dutch was cleaning up, he noticed that
GyroWave's back wheels were knocked off. Thus it was a double
KO.
GyroWave vs Tension (rematch)
This time, GyroWave's weapon broke in the weapon-to-weapon
clash, but so did Tension's. GyroWave kept ramming until it
reduced Tension to a frame and four wheels. The next hit flipped
Tension and took off two wheels. GyroWave won by KO.
—————————
GyroWave vs Minotaur II
GyroWave took some damage to its front, so Dutch decided to back
into Minotaur, which cost him the fight as Minotaur knocked off
his back wheels and won by KO.
GyroWave vs Minotaur II
This time, GyroWave won by KO.
GyroWave vs Bite Force II
[attachimg=2]
GyroWave later fought Bite Force II
HTML https://bugforums.createaforum.com/lego-battlebots-wiki/bite-force-ii/msg189/#msg189.<br
/>The first hit didn't do much; both weapons were still working.
However, GyroWave's was damaged, with the gears knocked out of
place a bit. The second hit disabled the king's weapon. The next
one, though went differently as GyroWave rammed into Bite
Force's front and knocked a few pieces off, disabling the
spinner. The fourth broke off both ends of the bar. The fifth
broke off the entire spinner section. The sixth smashed off one
upper wheel guard, but also broke off GyroWave's spinner. The
seventh broke the other guard. The eight didn't do much except
for GyroWave's broken spinner falling off. Hit number nine
damaged Bite Force's axle system. The final blow knocked one
more piece off Bite Force's underside. GyroWave was ruled the
winner.
Patterson-Seibert Tournament 2.0
GyroWave vs Tension II
GyroWave flipped Tension II, won the fight by KO and claimed the
title.
Patterson-Seibert Tournament 3.0
GyroWave vs Left Hook
[attachimg=3]
This match started very even, but then GyroWave's famous weapon
stopped. Then they collided again. Both backed away and
GyroWave's front half came entirely off. Dutch stubbornly
attacked again, as all the champ's wheels were still on. This
time, it flipped and therefore lost by KO. Left Hook became Lego
BattleBots champion.
Dutch rebuilt GyroWave the next day, making it a
middleweight.
[attachimg=4]
—————————
GyroWave vs Box O' Destruction
Next GyroWave faced the full-body spinner Box O' Destruction.
The first hit did nothing. The second hit was a full-on
collision between the weapons. GyroWave's gears and bracings
withstood the hit, but the blades came off. After several more
hits, GyroWave rammed Box O' Destruction hard enough to knock
part of the top off. Box O' Destruction started to "Mauler dance
HTML https://battlebots.fandom.com/wiki/Mauler_dance"
and GyroWave
won by KO.
Patterson-Seibert Tournament 4.0
GyroWave vs Box O' Destruction
This fight went much like last time. GyroWave won by KO and
advanced to the finals, where it got a chance to reclaim its
title from Left Hook.
GyroWave vs Left Hook
The first collision broke off GyroWave's wedge and part of the
bottom. But the second hit broke Left Hook's wedge off,
splitting it in half. GyroWave won by KO in two hits and
reclaimed its title.
GyroWave vs Son of Razor
GyroWave won this fight by KO after losing its weapon.
Four-Team Tournament 1.0
GyroWave vs Left Hook Jr.
The first hit broke off GyroWave's blades, but Left Hook Jr.
took damage as well with a chunk taken off the front. GyroWave
continued to keep the advantage, ramming pieces of Left Hook
Jr.'s armor off. Suddenly Left Hook Jr. knocked GyroWave to the
rug. Dutch stopped the fight and asked David, Deacon and
Nathaniel if that counted as a knockout if he couldn't get off.
They said yes, and David began the countdown as Dutch
frantically tried to get GyroWave off the rug by turning the
spinner system. However, he ended up getting it high-centered,
and was counted out. Left Hook Jr. won by KO. However, Dutch
requested a rematch in a different fighting area.
GyroWave vs Left Hook Jr.
This fight went down much like the first, but this time GyroWave
shattered the front of Left Hook Jr., which was counted out.
GyroWave won by KO.
GyroWave vs Spinner
Next up for the champ was an exhibition match with the brand-new
bot Spinner. Neither could damage the other and GyroWave won by
judges' decision.
Dutch's Bots Tournament #6
GyroWave vs Executioner
Both bots lost their weapons before Executioner's wedge fell off
and got it high-centered. GyroWave won by KO.
Patterson-Seibert Tournament 5.0

Footage from a similar BattleBots fight, Icewave vs Yeti.
Ethan had completely redesigned Left Hook Jr.
HTML https://bugforums.createaforum.com/lego-battlebots-wiki/left-hook-jr/<br
/>as a wedge with a smaller weapon and the two met in the finals
of the event.
The first few hits did little, as the bots could barely
strike each other with their primary weapons. Then Dutch decided
to lift up the front of his bot as he pushed it in an attempt to
ram Left Hook Jr.'s spinner. The next hit launched GyroWave into
the air, and as it landed on Ethan's bot its blades broke off.
Now weaponless, Dutch frantically tried to make a comeback.
Finally, he was able to take off one of Left Hook's wheels. The
fight was paused as the referee (David) examined the bot to see
if its wheels were touching the ground. Finally it was decided
that Left Hook was still in the fight. After a few more hits,
Ethan tapped out as the baseplate of his bot was cracking.
GyroWave won by KO again.
Patterson-Seibert Tournament 6.0
GyroWave vs Unnamed
GyroWave flipped Unnamed over and smashed it out of the arena,
winning by KO.
GyroWave vs Smash
GyroWave disabled Smash's hammer, but lost its own weapon as
well. David eventually tapped out and GyroWave won by technical
KO. Next up for the champ was Ethan's new hammerbot, Stab
HTML https://bugforums.createaforum.com/lego-battlebots-wiki/stab/msg216/#msg216.
GyroWave vs Stab
GyroWave's first hit on Stab resulted in a devastating
weapon-to-weapon hit. Stab lost pieces of its front wedge, but
GyroWave's spinner broke. Finally the fight went to JD and Stab
won in a big upset.
All-Team Tournament 2.0
GyroWave vs Bite
First up for Dutch and GyroWave was Nathaniel and his new
full-body spinner, Bite. The first hit broke off both ends of
GyroWave's bar, but Bite got rammed out of the BattleBox
HTML https://bugforums.createaforum.com/lego-battlebots-wiki/patterson-battlebox/.<br
/>Bite was counted out and GyroWave won yet another fight by KO.
Then it got a chance for revenge against its rival Stab.
GyroWave vs Stab
GyroWave lost its weapon again, but Stab became high-centered
somehow and was counted out. GyroWave won in another quick KO.
GyroWave vs Left Hook Jr.
This fight was delayed for a few minutes, as Dutch had to repair
the battle damage from Stab. Even so, GyroWave's gearbox was not
working well in this fight, so the bar spinner wasn't at full
torque or speed.
GyroWave lost both ends of its bar in the first hit, but
damaged Left Hook Jr.'s wedge. The fight continued with no
damage until Left Hook Jr. lost a wheel. The fight went the
distance and the judges awarded Left Hook Jr. the victory in a
2-1 split decision.
This fight was controversial, with Dutch arguing that
GyroWave deserved the win. However, the decision stood.
Patterson-Seibert Tournament 7.0
GyroWave vs Smash
Dutch added a "cow catcher" on the front of GyroWave for this
fight, though it was knocked off quickly.
Both bots took a lot of damage early on from the hits. Part
of GyroWave's bar came off and unbalanced the weapon, allowing
Smash to get under GyroWave. However, GyroWave finally won by
KO.
GyroWave vs Unnamed
Ethan had upgraded Unnamed for the first time, making it
stronger and heavier. The fight started well for GyroWave as it
knocked Unnamed a long way with each hit. Then Unnamed tore off
the front wedge, and damaged the weapon housing. Finally the
fight went to the judge (David) and after long discussion it was
decided to give the bots two more hits. GyroWave scored more
Control points, but took a lot of damage. It was still too close
to call, so they attacked one more time. Unnamed did more
damage, ripping plates off GyroWave's underside. David ruled in
favor of Unnamed and GyroWave lost in an utterly shocking upset.
However, the drivers agreed to a rematch.
GyroWave vs Unnamed
This fight went much like the first, but Ethan tapped out as one
of the impactor pieces on Unnamed was bending. GyroWave won by
technical KO and advanced to fight Son of Razor
HTML https://bugforums.createaforum.com/lego-battlebots-wiki/son-of-razor/.
GyroWave vs Son of Razor
For this fight, Dutch had created an attachment that looked like
a large fist on a pole, placed on the front. It was designed to
break Son of Razor's blades off. The first hit took the
attachment off. GyroWave took heavy damage, but finally won by
KO and advanced to the next round, where it faced Stab yet
again.
GyroWave vs Stab
GyroWave's spinner withstood the weapon-to-weapon collisions
quite well, but was disabled eventually. GyroWave's wedge proved
to be weaker than Stab's, and it came off, taking three
underside plates with it. Finally, Dutch chose to back into
Stab, as his front armor was devastated. This proved fatal, as
the rear wheels were knocked off, and GyroWave was counted out
and eliminated from the tournament.
Patterson-Seibert Tournament 8.0
GyroWave vs Phoenix
GyroWave, due to placing high in the previous tournament,
received a bye and skipped the first round. Its first opponent
was Ethan's new horizontal spinner Phoenix
HTML https://bugforums.createaforum.com/lego-battlebots-wiki/phoenix/,<br
/>which had previously defeated Unnamed. Both bots' wedges were
long enough that their weapons could not touch. Dutch got one
weapon hit on Phoenix by turning and thus bypassing the wedges.
The fight went the distance and Phoenix won by JD, putting it in
the next round and GyroWave in the losers' bracket, where it
faced Dutch's new shell spinner Atticus.
GyroWave vs Atticus
David drove Atticus for this fight. The former Best Driver Award
winner spun Atticus up and drove right at GyroWave. The
resulting blow sent Atticus out of the arena, where it was
counted out. GyroWave had won by KO in one hit and advanced to
the next round, where it faced Son of Razor.
GyroWave vs Son of Razor
GyroWave won by KO when SOR destroyed itself and was no longer
capable of controlled movement. GW advanced to the next round to
fight Phoenix again.
GyroWave vs Phoenix
Dutch had taken a lot of damage against SOR and so he had to
rebuild his front wedge. He made it shorter this time so he
could land bigger hits.
This time, GyroWave and Phoenix hit weapons again and
again, which only reversed the spin of Phoenix's spinner.
GyroWave won by JD in the end and advanced to fight the winners'
bracket finalist, its rival Stab.
GyroWave vs Stab
GyroWave was able to damage Stab's hammer despite losing its own
weapon. Ethan used the hammer shaft as a spike, but it broke
off. Suddenly Stab flipped after a big impact and was counted
out, giving GW the win and championship.
—————————
GyroWave vs Unnamed
This fight was a grudge match that did not count toward either
bot's record. GyroWave was KOed immediately as it took its own
wheels off by getting them stuck on the edge of the arena.
Unnamed won by KO in one hit. Dutch requested a rematch.
GyroWave vs Unnamed
GyroWave lost by JD, as its armor got ripped apart by Unnamed,
and Dutch could not ram Unnamed off the arena, partially due to
David's skilled driving.
Patterson-Seibert Tournament 9.0
GyroWave vs Son of Razor
GyroWave received a bye and fought Son of Razor in the first
round.
GyroWave won by KO when SOR broke in half from its own
power. GyroWave advanced to the third round to face Phoenix
again.
GyroWave vs Phoenix
GyroWave took very heavy damage and lost the fight, going into
the loser's bracket to face David's new featherweight crusher, I
Don't Know.
GyroWave vs I Don't Know
HTML https://media2.giphy.com/media/kcfPtYwHDRQcLb9sCw/giphy.gif
The first hit from GyroWave's bar sent I Don't Know flying about
two feet. However, it was, amazingly, unharmed. GyroWave hit it
again and this time the tiny bot broke in half. GyroWave won an
easy KO and advanced to fight Son of Razor again.
GyroWave vs Son of Razor
GyroWave won by KO in the same fashion as last time. GyroWave
advanced the finals to fight Phoenix.
GyroWave vs Phoenix
This fight was long and brutal, with both bots taking loads of
damage. Ethan eventually tapped out and GyroWave won. However,
Son of Razor was given a wildcard, so GyroWave had to fight it
one more time.
GyroWave vs Son of Razor
GyroWave's armor held up again. Son of Razor did better this
time, but then broke apart. However, SOR's bottom section
separated and David showed controlled movement. The fight went
to JD after ten hits and GyroWave won the title.
Patterson-Seibert Tournament 10.0
GyroWave vs Phoenix
GyroWave had again received a bye and its first match was
against Phoenix yet again. Phoenix had defeated Lift Off! in the
first round.
GyroWave did okay at first until it got knocked onto the
side wall of the arena. Dutch frantically tried to drive back
in, but his rear wheels got stuck and he was counted out.
GyroWave moved to the loser's bracket, where it was set to fight
Dutch's other bot Tearnado
HTML https://bugforums.createaforum.com/lego-battlebots-wiki/tearnado/.
GyroWave vs Tearnado
Dutch was not able to repair Tearnado from its previous match
against Left Hook Jr, so Tearnado had to forfeit. GyroWave moved
on to fight its rival Unnamed.
GyroWave vs Unnamed
David drove Unnamed. Dutch's plan for this fight was to use his
front wedge to push the other bot out of the box. The first hit
did little. In the next hit, Dutch rammed very hard, knocking
Unnamed out of the arena, despite losing its wedge. David almost
got the spinner back in, but was counted out and GyroWave won by
KO and advanced to face Phoenix again.
GyroWave vs Phoenix
Phoenix won by KO and GyroWave was eliminated from the
tournament for the final time.
