IG ready, too, with foresail and flying jib this time - for
       whatever difference they will make.

North or South? There's a temptation to run South to the
Solomon islands where there is normally a hook of northerly up
to Guam. Or head north to get out of the wind convergence zone.
Or try to stay on the Rhum line but I expect there's going to be
a lot of slack wind on that route.
I think I favour the Northern route right now as we've been
through the Bismark Sea before and the wind can be very
variable. What does everyone else think?
I'll take studded sails and a foresail with me (L--/f--).
This time I'll try and keep pointed in the right direction!

Hmm...not sure. The direct route looks ok for a while, but
looking at the longer term forecast I'm inclined to think that a
northerly route looks favourite. 3500 miles this time, and it's
going to be rather less straightforward than the last leg!
Magellan was killed in The Philippines - let's hope we get
       further than him!
