Terrible loss. Regrettably adds to last years losses -
unacceptable. I'm sure there are wiser heads that will have to
come up with something.

The yachts around me are facing a decision on direction chosen.
Most appear to be continuing SEE, but I think I'm going to try
going NEE and catch a ridge of pressure which will take me to
the southerly winds off Cape Town. A risky strategy, but I've
been edging towards it for a while now and now I think I'm
committed to it. Hopefully passing by (and not into) Tristan da
Cunha.

Sad indeed. And this race seems to have had more than its fair
share of injuries and events.
For IG the only nav option is to begin to track SE to stay in
phase with the ante-cyclone.
